Charlatans frontman and solo sensation in his own right Tim Burgess is set for a hometown show in the Spring, coming to the Pink Room of trendy new Manchester venue YES on Saturday 22nd March.
The 2019 show will see the singer dip into the solo record he released just this year, entitled As I Was Now, which marries Burgess' experimental side with a penchant for catchy pop numbers to great effect.
Recording sessions for the album reportedly took place between Christmas and New Year's 2008 when Burgess did some jamming and recording with a "dream band" which included My Bloody Valentine's Debbie Googe, the Horrors' Josh Hayward, Primal Scream, and Ladyhawke. Burgess apparently assumed the results had been released until Googe asked about them years later and a decade later, the recordings were released via Burgess' O Genesis label.
Joining the singer at the Manchester date are "bad ass power pop champs" Average Sex, signed to Burgess' aforementioned label, and tipped for great things.
