With so much on the menu for Rob and Josie Da Bank's family friendly extravaganza this year, we thought we'd trawl though the extensive line up and pick out what we feel are five of the most unmissable occurrences at this year's installment.
The long standing vanguards of British dance music hit Camp Bestival on the Sunday night. With 15 years of banging hits in their back catalogue, Basement Jaxx have been responsible for turning out discerning classics combining 'glistening pop with razor edge underground cool'. Their high octane, rabble-rousing live show (see that above) will provide a memorable, unmissable ending to the weekend.
Saturday nights at Camp Bestival are all about creating the ultimate party experience, which is exactly why they've hooked in Long Island hip hop veterans De La Soul, to bring the feel good vibes (hear that in their Maida Vale set below) directly to Lulworth Castle.
With a penchant for carrying messages of love, positivity and peace, De La Soul have since the 80's been a breath of fresh air in the hip hop fraternity. Records like 'Me, Myself and I', 'Say No Go', and of course ‘Magic Number’ will conclude Saturday's proceedings in sublime fashion.
As one of the most in demand vocal talents at the moment, MNEK has had his unique talents recruited for likes of Rudimental, Sub Focus, Gorgon City and Duke Dumont, with whom he co-wrote smash number one hit 'Need U (100%).
Whether he is performing one of his massive hit records, or one of his ingenuous covers (check out his Rosie Gaines reworking above), this will be a great chance to see one of the countries fastest rising stars letting his sublime vocal skills run wild.
As one of the country's most respected roots and reggae icons, the legendary David Rodigan will be bringing his celebrated Ram Jam night to Camp Bestival, a night showcasing not only his unparalleled selection skills, but his ability to rock a party (witness that above) with everything from classic reggae to cutting edge bass. Expect a true masterclass in urban bass culture.
As one of those outstanding shows that manages to match education with lashings of macabre humour, Horrible Histories is an ingenious way of teaching kids about, in this case, British history in a fresh and exciting way.
The welcome return from the Horrible histories crew (they were one of the definite highlights of last year's festival) will see them dig up a whole host of dastardly, real life characters from the past through their engaging, crowd pleasing stage show. Be prepared for 'a terrible treat.'
