The UK edition of the almighty Electronic Daisy Carnival experience, due to land at Milton Keynes Bowl on July 11th, is understandably one of the most anticipated dance events hitting the country this summer.
With a gift for throwing events that look and sound out of this world, EDC announced last week that they'd be hosting the 240 foot wide, 90 foot tall kineticCATHEDRAL Stage complete with 45 foot owls either side of the DJ booth, showing once again that they are at the very forefront of visual design (below).
And of course, there's a bulging line up of scene leading artists making the most of EDC UK's unparalleled productions values, so we thought we'd help you out and pick out five must see acts from this year's edition of the festival.
As head of one of the hottest imprints out there, Jamie Jones continues to develop a sound that brings warmth, melody and soul to the house and techno template (hear that in his Time Warp set above). Low slung basslines and addictive vocal hooks collide as he time and again shows why he's ranked so highly in the underground.
With sets as fun loving and charismatic as the DJ himself, Claude VonStroke can always be relied upon to deliver the goods on the big stage. With plenty of bass, sex appeal and booty shaking goodness, Vonstroke's Dirtybird sound (shown in all its glory above) continues to lead the way in the bass music revolution.
One of the most authentic trance titans out there, Ferry Corsten has been a figurehead of the scene since the late nineties, and has racked up a formidable back catalogue of euphoric bangers. His relentless, uplifting set (as heard above) is sure to be a highlight of the weekend.
With a sound primed for the big stage, Sub Focus' expansive drum & bass, deep house (check 'Close' with MNEK above) and electro displays continue to hook in huge crowds. With a stage design as elaborate as the myriad of noises emanating from his live shows, Sub Focus has already proven himself a true master of the large arena.
What kind of list would this be if we didn't include the world's number one ranked DJ (DJ Mag)? With a sound specifically designed for the biggest platforms in the world (see him in action above), Hardwell's all conquering, high octane sets full of drum rolls, bass drops and pounding beats combined is a sonic feast that everyone needs to experience.
