THE FLEADH 2004 - 20th JUNE, FINSBURY PARK, LONDON

The final acts have been confirmed for the amazing line up of the Fleadh 2004 with the addition of Paddy Casey, Damien Dempsey and The Stands. They will join headliner Bob Dylan, (playing his only UK festival), Counting Crows, Christy Moore, John Prine, The Charlatans, Delays at London’s longest running festival. The show, in its 14th year features two stages, is held in Finsbury Park in London and signals the start of the summer.

Dublin singer-songwriter Paddy Casey has just released his second album ‘Living’ and will no doubt be playing tracks from it and his (Irish double platinum) debut release ‘Amen (So Be It)’ at this years Fleadh. In the last few years he’s toured the UK countless times, Europe Australia and North America … not bad for a former busker.

28 year old Damien Dempsey, an ex. Boxer from Donaghmede on Dublin’s Northside joins the main stage line up. He released his first single in 1997 before heading to New York to work and perform. On his return he released his debut album ‘They Don’t Teach This Shit In School’ and toured with Shane McGowan, Christy Moore and The Indigo Girls amongst others. His new album (his third) ‘Seize the Day’, which features occasional contributor Sinead O’Conner on backing vocals has already been top 5 in Ireland and he will be fresh from supporting Morrissey when he appears at the Fleadh.

The Stands from Liverpool were formed around vocalist Howie Payne and quickly tipped by the NME and found a fan in Noel Gallagher who offered them time in his recording studio. The band soon signed a deal and their debut single, a heady mix of The Byrds/Dylan and Gram Parsons was acclaimed across the board.
