The Bugged Out Weekender has now added six new acts to its line-up for the three day event in March, rounding off a blistering ensemble of artists. The new raft of announcements are headed up by a man no stranger to Bugged Out in many incarnations over the last seventeen years, Chi-town oddball Green Velvet.
As Green Velvet and Cajmere the man known to his mother as Curtis Jones has been a permanent player in electronic music. His satirical musings on clubland, infamously started with the anti-drug anthems ‘Flash’ and ‘La La Land’, continued with last year’s ‘(Walk Around) Like You’re bigger than Prince’ (watch above), a telling riposte on fame hungry newcomers to dance music.
Also added to the line-up are warehouse techno specialists Boddika and Joy Orbison, Canadian soulful experimentalist Jacques Greene, Ten Walls playing live (who also delivered one of the standout moments of 2013, ‘Gotham’, which you can watch below), and masters of leftfield jack The 2 Bears.
They join a glittering cast that already includes Andrew Weatherall, Sasha, Carl Craig, Dixon and Todd Terje making his UK live debut, as well as countless others. The weekender takes place from March 7th-9th at Pontins in Southport, the original home of the celebrated Southport Weekender.
