Progressive metal monsters Mastodon head to Newcastle this winter to deliver a duo of releases, most recently E.P Cold Dark Place, and before that, their seventh studio record Emperor Of Sand.
The band have been commended in the past for their ability to bring together hardcore and extreme metal, while combining elements of progressive music and beyond and this is undoubtedly heard in their mot recent work, not least the thundering, riff heavy Steambreather which you can check out below.
The band's North East leg of their UK tour sees them come to Northumbria University for what will be a truly epic live performance, as the Atlanta rockers deliver a 15 year old back catalogue, full of guitar clanging anthems.
