Finally, after months and months of counting down the days we can finally bring those suitcases out of storage and get ourselves ready for Ibiza 2016. This year is already shaping up to be huge with still so much more to come, but let’s get started with the month ahead for May.
Saturday 7th May sees the Tribal Sessions opening party at Sankeys Ibiza. Born from the legendary Tribal Gathering, Sankeys most iconic and award winning night, Tribal Sessions has been making waves in Ibiza for the past two seasons and the third season is set to be even bigger. To kick-start the season, the opening line-up consists of Josh Butler, Matt Jam Lamont, Manu Gonzalez and Jozef K all of which are Sankeys Ibiza regulars and know exactly what it takes to throw a memorable Tribal Sessions party.
Unusual Suspects begin their first summer residency with the Sankeys Ibiza crew every Thursday from 12th May and Wednesdays go back to the nostalgic years of acid house and Balearic beats as the original Dance 89 party gets the island buzzing with its line-ups of legendary residents and guest DJs and the Dance 88/89 opening party includes DJ Alfredo, Bushwacka! and Danny Rampling from 25th May.
Pacha have a jam-packed month. Wednesday 18th May see’s Electric Ibiza presents Ibiza Night Dream with Darius Syrossian and Nick Curly. Friday 20th the Insane Opening Party presents Vagabundos with Luciano (watch him close Ushuaia above), making its triumphant return to Pacha, the place where it all began. The opening line-up is still TBA but the mix between the characteristic sound of Cadenza and the magical nights at Pacha is already a set up an unforgettable night.
Bob Sinclar’s Paris By Night returns on the Saturday night, 21st May. The past three years at Pacha have seen Sinclar gather his special DJ guests and together making a mark on the island as one of the most popular Saturday night parties. For the opening party Sinclar will be joined by Todd Terry with more TBA.
Sunday 22nd May is the opening party for Solomun+1. Solomun (in action at Pacha below) will kick-start the start of the season alongside Butch.
Maceo Plex has never taken charge of Pacha’s booth before but 24th May see’s Maceo confirm his first artist-led residency on the island, Mosaic. He’s still staying tight lipped on the opening line-up but with upcoming slots from the likes of Adam Beyer, Radio Slave, Bicep and DJ Koze - rest assured that it’s going to be a hot ticket.
Last but not least for Pacha is a firm favourite amongst Ibiza revellers, Wednesday nights inside Pacha are about to heat up once again as Martin Solveig returns with My House on 25th May. Expect an exciting combination of house and “Future House” grooves.
Let’s talk about DC-10. One of the most infamous parties in the island is undoubtedly Circoloco at DC-10. The beginnings of Circoloco back in 1999 could hardly be more humble and now it’s the most iconic underground techno party in the world. The opening party on 23rd May sees the cream of Ibiza talent including Seth Troxler, The Martinez Brothers (seen in action last year above), Tale of Us, Black Coffee, Kerri Chandler, Jackmaster, Dubfire, Damian Lazarus… the list is pretty much endless.
San Antonio’s Eden has pulled out the stops this year for their opening fiesta too. Wednesday 25th May house heavyweight Mark Knight is joined by 99 Souls, Mandal & Forbes, Andy Baxter, Pagal, Dermot C and the most recent addition to the line-up is Weiss.
Next up we have Privelige who opening their doors Friday the 27th of May with a 12 hour marathon session from midnight to midday. In charge of the main room is a selection of in demand names in future house and EDM, including Danny Avila, Tujamo and EDX.

The opening will see the car park opened up to create an additional huge outdoor arena complete with a bespoke stage boasting a huge soundsystem.
