Smack bang in the middle of the raving season, we spotted a monthly spree of cracking November rave ups on the South Coast at Southampton's Junk.
With the 'Best Small Club' title belt wrapped firmly around its waist, Junk shows no signs of losing it throughout a month that starts with notorious Balearic shindig - The Zoo Project, which takes over the club for one night only. Soundtracking the iconic soiree is Samuel Deep, the youthful selector with a raw edge who's partial to throwing down a whopping groove. Tickets for that here.
Next up it's mega Leeds' producer Midland hitting up the club on Saturday 8th November. With ties to Will Saul's Aus imprint and the likes of London's Phonica, Midland's clearly of pedigree breed. Expect big bass, soul drenched techno and dreamy deep house sounds from the star selectors palette (some of that below). Bag your tickets here.
Maintaining the gold standard on Saturday 15th November, Dutch house wizards Detroit Swindle (catch them below) drop by to reaffirm why they've been lapped up by the likes of Tsuba and played at clubbing mecca Panorama Bar with a performance awash with killer drops and meaty slabs of house and techno. Tickets here.
Permeating the club's borders on Saturday 22nd November are mammoth Bristolian imprint Futureboogie records who hold dance behemoths such as Julio Bashmore on their roster. They bring dynamic duo Waifs & Strays to the table flaunting their unique house sound derived from a plethora of genres that has seen them rip apart clubs like Fabric, Watergate and everywhere in between. Grab your tickets here.
Step up Hessle Audio, the infamous label run by Pearson Sound, Ben UFO and Pangaea, which will descend on the club on Saturday 29th November, rounding off a cracking month for the Junk.
In gentlemanly fashion the label brings along two of its aforementioned giants. Pearson Sound the genre blurring alias of David Kennedy is sure to stir up a storm on the night with some mutated, bewildering dancefloor cuts whilst Pangaea will provide a different dynamic with material exploring the murky depths of dark, exhilarating techno (as heard above). Tickets for that one here.
