MADNESS AND JOSS STONE - LATEST TO CONFIRM FOR KNOWSLEY HALL MUSIC FESTIVAL

Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th June 2007

'THE ONLY GLASTONBURY ALTERNATIVE'

Knowsley Hall, Liverpool / 1PM - 11PM

In just seven weeks of announcing the Knowsley Hall Music Festival and a stunning line up of acts with perfect calibre to grace the stately home, Knowsley Hall has quickly established itself as a bold new player on the festival circuit. Now, with just 3 months to go before the biggest outdoor rock event to ever hit Liverpool we can exclusively reveal that Blues extraordinaire Joss Stone and merry maestros of Ska, Madness have confirmed their places on stage alongside the already bursting line up that includes The Who, Keane, The Zutons, The View, Shack, The Icicle Works and Little Flames.

Now, also confirmed is the inimitable Madness, fresh off the back of their sell out gig at the MEN (Manchester) two months ago. Protagonists of the Ska revival of the late '70s and early '80s they have ruled the festivals as firm favourites for the last 25 years with their prolific, bouncing, beloved sound. Their legendary hits include 'One Step Beyond', 'It Must Be Love' and 'Our House'; stunning songs we can't wait to hear belted across the idyllic landscape at the North West's hottest new event!

Another new addition is the magnificent Joss Stone; a truly triumphant booking. The soulful teen sensation has already sold an astonishing 7.5 million albums worldwide; won two Brit awards; been nominated for four Grammy Awards; appeared onstage with James Brown, The Rolling Stones, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Patti Labelle, Mavis Staples, Donna Summer, and Smokey Robinson; starred in two major ad campaigns for the Gap; and performed for more than 200,000 people at the 2005 Live 8 Concert. Stone is indeed one of the biggest UK success stories of the last decade and all before reaching the ripe old age of 19.

When asked about playing the inaugural Knowsley Hall event, Joss Stone enthused; "I'm especially excited to play Liverpool because half my family's from there I've always been a great supporter of Liverpool football club. I love going to the games with my dad. I definitely have fond memories of the place. I love the energy there and going from what I know I think we're going to have a lot of fun. I can't wait."

And the bookings don't stop there! Industry legends The Who recently said that if they could cherry pick any band to support them at Knowsley Hall it would be local band Shack who have become local industry stalwarts and made their mark on the Liverpool music scene with their unique Mersey beat twist. Pete Townsend saw them light up a night last year and has been a fan ever since! As pioneers and champions of quality bands, both big and small Knowsley Hall Festival immediately booked Shack at the personal request of The Who!

Continuing to champion local artists the promoters have also confirmed the appearance of 60's influenced indie rock outfit Little Flames who can cite The Artic Monkeys as one of their biggest fans plus longstanding local heroes The Icicle Works:

"The Icicle Works are proud to be playing at the inaugral Knowsley Hall Music Festival which will hopefully grow to become one of the major annual events in the Merseyside music calender. With such a superb line-up of music from right across the musical spectrum, combined with the beautiful setting - expect a wonderful day out for all ages." Ian McNabb.
