Pressure Drop is a brand new night about to hit Manchester which will showcase the very best in underground music, sound system culture and local talent. Two of Manchesters most promising up and coming sound systems, Dub Smugglers & Red Eye Hi Fi, have been working hard over the last few years to bring Manchester some of the biggest Reggae, Dancehall, Dubstep & Jungle acts around as well as promoting sound system culture in a city which has seen the art of sound systems die since the heydays of the 1980s. On October the 12th 2012 the two collectives will team up to bring Manchester the biggest line up of its kind for years...
Gracing the 15kw, hand built beast that is the Dub Smugglers Sound system are some of the biggest acts of their respective scenes and pioneers of underground music and culture. Room 2 will see Residents and Local talent showing why Manchester is the place where its all happening at the moment through the might of Herbal Sessions Sound system, another pioneer of the new generation of Mancunion sound system culture.
Whilst Sound Systems culture appears to be on the rise in Manchester, venues who appreciate frequencies bellow 80hz appear to be rapidly declining. However the underground gem in the middle of the Northern Quarter, Moho Live, has no fear of the frequencies we all crave for and will certainly be full of them come October 12th.
The acts coming to Manchester are no newcomers to bass filled rooms and will no doubt give the state of the art soundsystems a real run for their money. Bringing his own masterful take on Dubstep, Jungle, Dub and all things good will be RSD aka Rob Smith. Learning his trade as one half of Bristol Legends Smith & Mighty, Rob has re-invented himself as a pioneer of the UK Dubstep sound and will be returning to play for us after smashing the Contact Theatre back in December.

Another pioneer of his scene is a man called Jacky Murda. Making his Manchester Debut with us in October this jack-of-all-trades has his fingers in countless musical pies. From his collaboration with Aries & Tuffist in Chopstick Dubplate, to his more recent Dubstep influenced productions in Jingbongting, Jacky will no doubt come with an unrivalled & varied selection.

Also joining us on the night will be Riddim Tuffa Sound. Edinburghs No.1 digital dancehall warriors, Riddim Tuffa continue to grow in popularity smashing sets across the UK and Europe in recent years as well as a string of massive releases on their own Tuffa Dubs label. Expect high energy dancehall & digikal reggae!

And we cannot forget Bristols ladies man, Dub Boy who will come with Dub, Dancehall and Bashment vibes to get the gyaldem going as well as Jinx in Dub, the master of Breakbeat-jungle-dub.
All of this will surely make for one of the biggest dates of 2012 and you would be mad to miss out. Tickets in advance are a measly £8 and can be purchased from Skiddle, as well as ticket outlets in Fallowfeild, Chorlton and Manchester town centre, ticket sellers and all crew.
