Held only once every 20 years, Preston Guild is England's oldest festival - dating back to 1179 - and is the only Guild to still be celebrated in the UK.
Early September will see Preston's Avenham Park come alive to the sights and sounds of a colourful programme of music and arts events, including the Preston Proms in the Park with Jose Carreras and Katherine Jenkins, the massive one day G-Fest festival with Maverick Sabre, Labrinth and more, a show by The Human League and contemporary circus entertainment by French acrobatic company Switch.
Tickets for all of these events are now on sale with Skiddle - so read on to find out how you can join in with the celebrations.
Sunday 2nd September
The Sheffield trio perform in the Big Top at Avenham Park on Sunday 2nd September, headlining the Vintage Guild Festival as part of the Vintage Guild Weekend.
Having sold more than 20 million records over a career that spans more than 30 years, The Human League are still hugely popular today and this event will be a fitting finale for the festival, drawing a crowd of fans young and old.
Kick starting the Sunday night in the Big Top are classic synth-poppers Blancmange, whose hits like “Living on the Ceiling” and “Blind Vision” still retain an edgy contemporary power and will, of course, ensure the Vintage Guild audience enjoys a great time.
