Aura have rapidly established themselves as one of Liverpool's must do Saturday nights, combining the city's love for accessible dirty house music with the world's'd's finest DJ in the field. That surge continues on Saturday 30th November, as they welcome one of the newest superstars to hit the electronic music world, Cedric Gervais.
As one of the biggest DJs to emerge from the Miami scene in recent years, French ex-pat Gervais has certainly been in the headlines during his recent career. His euphoric rework of Lana Del ray's 'Summertime Sadness' gifted the Gothic chanteuse a pummeling electronic backdrop, but it was his ever-present club hit 'Molly' (above) which caused the most outcry when it found it's way to the lips of Madonna at Miami's Ultra Music festival in March 2012 - creating a verbal backlash from Deadmau5 no less.
'Molly' was one of the tunes that defined America's sudden interest in 'EDM', a synth encrusted slab of stadium house which sits alongside SHM's 'Don't you Worry Child' and Skirllex's 'Bangarang' as epochal moments in the emergence of electronic music in America's popular culture. That sound is now becoming a part of this nation as well, and Aura's commitment to bringing the immediacy of it all to Liverpool every week reflects this.
Unsure of what to expect from Gervais? Check out a mix of him live in Orlando above. He'll be supported on the night by Chris AvantGarde, John Ross and Lil John. Full details here.
