Things to do in London on Boxing day

Boxing Day is a day that can go either way. You'll either indulge far too much in drink or on food on Christmas Day and you'll need to feel better about yourself. Dolly Parton's Smoky Mountain Christmas Carol

Where: Southbank Centre, London

How about a Christmas classic but with a Dolly Parton twist? Experience the story of Ebenezer Scrooge but this time set in East Tennessee rather than Victorian London. Parton has written the songs that accompany this theatre performance as it gives new life to a classic story.

Jack and The Beanstalk- London Palladium

Where: London Palladium

There's nothing quite like a Boxing day pantomime performance which is a tradition for many. This huge performance of Jack and the Beanstalk will feature a brilliant cast. There will be a lavish set designed specifically for London's biggest panto. Expect plenty of laughs to be had at this one.

Enjoy a winter walk

There's nothing quite like a brisk winter walk to wake you up and rouse you from your drunken state. If you overdid it a bit at Christmas dinner then you'll feel much better after walking it off a bit the next day. There are plenty of great places to have a relaxing walk in London such as Walthamstow Wetlands, Hampstead Heath or any of the huge parks.

A full day of football is one way that you can spend Boxing day as the whole of the Premier League will be in action. Get cozy in your local and enjoy a couple of pints whilst cheering your team on. It always makes the day feel just a bit better when your team is doing well.

This is Matthew Warchus' smash hit production of the classic Charles Dickens story as it returns to the Old Vic Theatre once again. Adapted for the stage by Jack Thorne, this is a performance that will fill the auditorium to the brim with mince pies, music and more. You will come out of the theatre with an uplifting feeling.
