It's closing party time, as Mike Boorman looks at the month ahead for Ibiza in September.

It doesn't half come around quickly, but it's time to start talking about the last month of the Ibiza season and the closing parties. It's actually my favourite time to go to the White Isle, because you get some outrageously good line ups but it isn't as crowded as August and July, and it isn't as hot either. Getting on it in the summer sun can be a tiring experience!
But before the closing party fest, there's one very good line up worth mentioning at the start of the month for Cocoon @ Amnesia on Monday September 1st. Chris Liebing, Marcel Dettmann, Sven Vath and the man who's track 'Gotham' (below) was absolutely everywhere in Ibiza last summer, Ten Walls.
And now for the closing parties. The first of the month comes from Gatecrasher who cap off their Crasher Mondays on September 15th with an as yet unnamed headliner accompanied by Giuseppe Ottaviani, Bryan Kearney, Solarstone and Sneijder.
Then we've got Cream @ Amnesia, stretching the terminology slightly with two closing parties, on September the 18th and 25th. Both are headlined by Paul Van Dyk in the main room, wile over on the Mixmag Terrace there will be Steve Angello headlining on the 18th and Laidback Luke headlining on the 25th.
Amnesia have certainly got some nice variety that week. Check out also the Together closing party on September 23rd, with Chase & Status and Netsky heading up the main room, and then an absolute beast of a line up on the terrace, with Fatboy Slim, Eats Everything, Justin Martin and Waifs & Strays.
Then it's time for this week's golden ticket on September 27th - the Kehakuma/Elrow closing party. This one is interesting because the line up isn't filled with your normal Ibiza bods, but musically it will be brilliant - no doubt about it.
Levon Vincent fronts up the terrace, while the main room headliner is Fritz Kalkbrenner (live), the more underground Kalkbrenner brother (his brother Paul is a fixture in the DJ Mag top 100), who actually sings on his own tracks and has come up with some brilliantly musical stuff in the last few years, including this:
And it's well worth raising yourself and getting on one the next day, for the VIVa Warriors Closing Party at Sankeys. The VIVa head honcho Steve Lawler is obviously making an appearance, alongside a surprise guest, and also a live set from Mathew Jonson up in The Lab.
Finally, time to break the rules a little. If Cream can have two closing parties then we can allow ourselves to comment two months ahead and creep into October, can't we? Amnesia's closing party on October 4th reads very nicely indeed, with Luciano, Maceo Plex, Joseph Capriati, Eats Everything, Mar-T and Butch all crammed in.
