Review of Enjoy Music Festival 2018
Every year this festival gets bigger and better. As a Mum I was delighted to see how much entertainment there was for children. As a music lover it was great to find more acts, some of the names brought to Aberdeen for this event were awesome (Cast!). Also good choice of food and drink and the VIP area was better than last year too. Look forward to next year!

Atmosphere and location were fab, great to have a music festival in Aberdeen.
My only complaint is that the ‘tokens’ used to purchase food and drink were not refunded at the end of the festival if you hadn’t the chance to use them. Each token was worth £2.50. The staff refused to refund them and offered no alternative.

Event was good itself. Prices for soft drinks/water (£2/£2.50) were ridiculous and as it was a really hot sunny weekend a cheaper supply of water would have been really helpful.
I also paid for parking due to 'limited spaces available' - security had no idea where I was supposed to park and plenty of free parking and I didn't seem to be the only one moaning about paying for parking when it was free to the public.

There were a lot of DJ sets at the festival this year and it would have been great to see a few more well known bands/singers. That said the Dj sets were amazing. I would like to see Example back at the festival and also Professor Green.
Although the prices of drinks were understandably higher, the soft drinks were unacceptably high £2.50 for a small plastic of c**e is ridiculous. £5 for a few nachos with cheese sauce was also steep. I also found it funny that wine from one bar was £5 but was £7.50 from the other bar.
I think there could have been a slightly better layout to the venue - having opening tent doors facing each other directs the sound across the field which makes it difficult to listen to an act from outside the tent. This could easily have been resolved by facing the dance tent in the opposite direction.

Overall decent day out but boy it was very expensive for soft drinks and what was essentially bottled tennents (they had run out of draft and were hiding behind the curtain using the bottles).
I also have to say that whoever booked Goldie Lookin Chain needs there heads looked at. I had no idea who they were but the lyrics and language used were entirely inappropriate for a family festival. Yes, we can choose (and did so in the end) not to listen to them or do something else while they were on stage, but there were many tens of families running out of the tent with their kids ears covered. These guys should have been on later, not at 6pm!!
Overall, a good day but edge taken off it with the prices and Goldie Lookin Chain

Really enjoyed the Faithless DJ set - although it felt like it ended rather abruptly. Think the Aberdeen crowd could have been a bit better in trying/pushing for an encore.
Was a bit unclear what/where the dance tent was as per the line up shared on social media. Enjoyed the DJ in the VIP area but didn't have tickets so just danced on the other side of the fence.
Atmosphere was really nice - enjoyed it being a mixed age group so I didn't feel too old. Enjoyed that it wasn't too much of a fashion show with people who love themselves. Think the strict no drugs policy was great too - definitely helped attract the right people.
Was impressed every time we went to the toilet there was toilet paper, water and soap - very much appreciated!
Drinks were a tad on the expensive side but is always unfortunately expected at an event so not too much of a negative.

I attended with my 1 y/o son.
Venue was well laid out, open and clean, all areas were safe for my son to crawl around.
Atmosphere was relaxed, friendly and lively, plenty to keep us both entertained.
The kids section provided extra safety and good entertainment for my son, a soft play would be a good addition for next year.
No queues for any of the food, bar, facilities all contributed to a great day.

Review of Enjoy Music Festival 2018
Hi - This was admittedly a complimentary weekend pass as we live nearby. My partner and I popped over on the Friday evening and watched Cast on stage enjoying their performance very much.
On Saturday we came again this time with my step-daughter and her best friend. The atmosphere was slightly different, maybe as it started earlier more drink had been consumed however there were no major issues that I'm aware of.
My partner and I saw Sigma in the main tent and enjoyed the music (I am an ex-DJ after all)… Believe it or not, the girls wanted to see Sigma but got caught up in the other tent and saw Basement Jaxx instead. Mind you, they said they were very good.
Overall if I'm honest, I don't think I would have paid the full ticket price for the entertainment on offer and some of the stalls offering burgers and the like were not what I would call anywhere near 'quality'. The fun-fair advertised was a bit measly with only 3 rides that I saw - and only one of those was big enough for adults.
It might have been a good idea to have had signposts as to who were playing where and at what time - I know that the order of play was downloadable however we couldn't find it...
To summarise - the weekend passes were very much appreciated, thank you. We will probably come again next year depending on whether we're asked and on whom the artists are going to be. Just wondering... Tokio Myers might be a good fit....
Kind regards,
Vincent Spangenberg
