Review of Mary Spender

Nice intimate venue , which seemed to suit Mary's mix of earlier acoustic material and the more rocky electric guitar music from her new album.
Mary appeared very happy to be performing and had a good rapport with her audience.
Mary has a great voice and vocal range and she was supported by a skilled backing band who didn't overplay and overpower her music .
Mary was also keen to hear from the audience and encouraged them to join her for a beer and "share their stories " with her after the conclusion of the concert.
All in all an enjoyable experience.

Had a fabulous night. Qujaku were amazing. It's a shame that the venue was only a third full. It would have been great to have been packed. I made sure that I bought merchandise to help them along.

Great gig, lovely people, sound was incredible... The band were awesome and so friendly meeting them after the gig. The Castle and Falcon is a great place with a really nice back room for bands and a decent bar. Qujaku were an amazing experience and the support Sweetpool were great too - wish I could go again!

The Bygones were brilliant. It's the second time I have seen them and have followed them on you tube for years and they didn't dissapoint.
I was pleasantly surprised to see a support act too. He was very good also . I well be checking more of his work.
The venue was on the mostly good. The staff were friendly and it had a nice atmosphere. There was a good selection of Alcohol free beer also that you don't normally find.
I knocked a star off as both the gents toilets had been damaged and not repaired. Taps hanging off in the one and and knob on the other. And a broken lock on the stall.
Parking is an issue also I had a local friend drop me off and pick me up. A taxi would probably be best to get there.
