Review of Between The Lines: Saturday
What a great night. Hats off to Mr Regan and friends for this one. First time at this venue and I think it is one of the best medium size venues in Brum. Superb sound system, good bar service, decent toilet facilities. And of course then there was the line up. Children of Zeus took a while to get the crowd on their side but when they did the place started rocking. Tropical Soundclash DJs kept the vibe going until the first of the night’s main events, Quantic. Will Holland and a band of super talented musicians playing new and old tracks from his ever increasing and ever brilliant back catalogue. A polished performance from one of the most talented and unassuming musicians around. All the crowd were now totally up for the arrival of Mr Peterson. A typically diverse and eclectic set from the Worldwide man, mixing old, new, classics and obscure to keep the crowd moving. Not sure about the bizarre poetry thing towards the end but hey, that’s Gilles for you. Finishing touch was the friendly, up for it crowd. One of my gig highlights of this year without question.
