Review of Brighton Tattoo Convention 2016
This was my first convention. Have to say that I really enjoyed it! I would recommend it to everyone. Also the location was spot on , as I knew it used to be held at the racecourse. Which is actually quite difficult to get to if you don't know buses in that area very well. But this venue was on the seafront and close to everything. Also the stalls and stands were great, and the artists there were amazing. I was awestruck as I am big fans of most of the artists there and aspire to be in shoes (not their actual shoes) some day. I thought however that the ticket prices were quite expensive, just for the entry.

Review of Brighton Tattoo Convention 2016
Had a totally awesome day, took my 16 year old daughter along she was fascinated, given her lots of ideas for piercings and her first tattoo when she's old. I loved everything about the convention from the cars as you walked in to the music and the merchant downstairs, bought a wicked pair of Mary Poppins and Bert earings along with other stuff.
Thanks for a great day can't wait for next year.

Review of Brighton Tattoo Convention 2016
Really awesome and welcoming event. I highly recommend it for the hard-core tattoo lovers and artists, as well as anyone simply interested in tattooes as an art form. Brighton is also an beautifully offbeat town.

Review of Brighton Tattoo Convention 2016
The variety of artists attending this year was great and it was awesome being able to meet them and get tattooed. The lead room was a cool addition also. The vendor stands were fine but nothing more than I expected. I attended the convention in 2014 at the Hilton and feel the new space this year was not utilised as well. There was a large area in the centre of the tattoo hall that could have been used better, maybe giving the stalls a bit more room. There was also a lack of entertainment over and above seeing the tattooists and vendor stalls. There were seminars etc but I was expecting a stage area with bands/entertainment so you could chill with a beer or something. The bars on the sides didn't really add to the atmosphere. I felt there wasn't enough to keep you in there all day, maybe a band in the sky bar would have been cool? The main reason you come is to see and get tattooed by people you couldn't get to normally and for that I can't fault it. It just felt a bit flat on everything else.

Review of Brighton Tattoo Convention 2016
I was disappointed with the lack of food stalls available. In previous years there had been much more on offer as meals as well snacks. I was also disappointed that there was only a very small craft beer/cider bar as the only alternative to the main Brighton centre bars. It made the event seem less like a whole day out.

Review of Brighton Tattoo Convention 2016
Amazing event! It would have been nice to have a few more food stalls, but other than that, it was awesome. It would also be nice to get some sort of discounted ticket for entry if you are already booked into get a tattoo with an artist at the convention.

Review of Brighton Tattoo Convention 2016
Worst Brighton convention we've been to. Venue not right. There was no atmosphere.
There should have been 2 queues on Saturday, 1 for pre-paid, 1 for pay on the day.
Traders apparently did bad on Saturday because no-one knew they were there or didn't find them.
We missed the big bar area with food available as well. The bars this year were quiet and again no atmosphere. No decent food stalls.
Didn't seem to be as many artists this year. Some had minimal space so no-one behind the table to drum up interest.
We left at 1.30 pm on the Sunday, having walked round twice, as there was nothing to keep us there.
This is my opinion but did overhear people with similar thoughts

Review of Brighton Tattoo Convention 2016
We all really enjoyed the convention, however as a tattoo artist there where a number or things I just couldn't believe I saw! There where some artists with their equipment on the floor, nowhere to wash their hands, very squashed together in some parts, how could you stop the cross contamination!? And clientele are paying through the odds for tattoo work to be undertaken! I didn't see one health and safety officer or anything of the equivalent! Cloth seating with a disposable apron on for cover!? The list goes on. I thought that the event was really good, but the health and safety side of it should be tightened right up!! You couldn't possibly have it like that in a tattoo studio, so what would make the convention any different! Same with the tattoo fixers on the tele, dirty as you like yet it gets filmed all over the tv for millions to see! That program has a bad reputation now, and would hate for the same impression to go towards conventions! I am in Maidstone convention next year and I will be applying for Brighton possibly the year after! I will certainly not be as lapse as some of those artists I witnessed! Apart from the health side of things, the car show was brilliant, those cars were lush, the staff were really decent and friendly, the stuff for sale was different and we managed to get some contacts for our studio also! We met our tattoo suppliers (Barber Dts) whilst we were there, overal we had great fun! Definatly go again, hopefully I'll be one of the artists in it next time!? The music was a bit crappy when you first walked in, it was too loud and couldn't be heard properly through the distortion. Overal I'd give the whole event 8/10
Thanks for your time :)
