Review of 9.15pm - Carlisle City of Lights
It was lovely to see Carlisle’s beautiful historic buildings being used in this way. We were there on Friday - a lovely, clear night with a fabulous moon. I loved the light and colour - in the trees as well as on the Cathedral and Castle. I felt more relaxed with it was all being out of doors.
Though I enjoyed the first part at the Cathedral, I must admit I wasn’t really sure what was going on - perhaps some introduction or written text would have helped. The part at the Castle was more self explanatory and easier to follow.
Many thanks to all concerned in bringing this creative and ambitious project to fruition. More please …

Review of 7.30pm - Carlisle City of Lights
Unfortunately organisation was poor. Numerous people unable to get entry to their purchased time slot at the cathedral and by the time entry was gained to the castle the light show had already started.

Review of 8.00pm - Carlisle City of Lights
The first show was quite odd, was expecting something more upbeat! Would have been better if it was more of a light show rather than pictures projected onto a wall. Lovely walk to the castle via Tullie House. Second show a bit better. The lights around Carlisle and at the Castle are lovely.

Review of 8.30pm - Carlisle City of Lights
Not sure if my last review got sent so here we go again!
This was awful.
There was no continuity between the buildings lit up and a significant lack of atmosphere.
The slide shows were horrid. The audience was too close so the images were grainy and came out better in photographs.
The slide shows were just awful. The first by the cathedral was horrific and would give young children nightmares. Certainly several people with young children left this show early. The music to this show was just an awful racket. Horrid. The show in the castle was less horrid but certainly unpleasant. Was there a message to these slide shows? There seemed to be no reason for the images displayed. The music at the castle better just spoiled by the images.
Comments heard around us were the lack of street vendors and this adds atmosphere to an event like this Street musician would have been great along with food vendors.
We didn’t understand why we were trailed through Tullie house and then onto a very busy main road. Why were audiences guided across a very busy road when there is both a bridge and an underpass which could have been lit to create continuity and a far safer way of crossing the road. Several cars were using their horns exasperated by pedestrians when we were crossing.
Sorry but this was very disappointing and more thought should go into this if you are thinking of putting it on again. And if you do. Please please please not those horrid slide shows.

Review of 7.15pm - Carlisle City of Lights
Neede to be more disabled friendly. When asked people to help my dad so he didn't have to walk very far one man said not a chance! Someone should have talked first about what it was about. No idea what it was meant to be. No description on the night and no story line.

It was the best that could be done and have people outside, lucky not to have rain! A good evening, over too quickly, I would have liked to watch the second one at the castle twice.

Review of 7.00pm - Carlisle City of Lights
Great venue as usual and well organised. The first section at the cathedral was like an acid trip, no idea what that was all about. The 2nd section was a little clearer with sunrise and sunset. Loved the lasers and some of the visual.
