Review of Solfest 2004-2024
It was so very loud. Way too loud. A band in the dry stone tent was drowned out by their own bass. Except for Palais and disco tent the volume (mainly bass) was ridiculous. Sleep at night impossible even in family site. We left early. My partner got ear ache, her daughter whilst holding her 1 year old son felt the sound vibrating through her child, at 2am in family camping. This is not healthy

Can't do anything about the terrible weather, but calling yourselves a family friendly festival means you need a space for kids. There was a kids tent but we got kicked out each day (first day it just closed, second day they started playing techno really loud at 4pm as it was "dead in here" and third day apparently due to the wind, but all other tents stayed open) with no other place to go as all other stages way too loud. Being forced back to the quiet and family camping only to have 2 stages point straight into the area blasting music till 4am (so loud I could feel the bass through my child whilst trying to sooth them). It's a festival, I expected noise... but that was a f**king joke! Spoke to at least 4 different families who like us had to leave early as we had no safe space to be with our kids. Terrible management.

Review of Solfest 2004-2024
Went last year and loved it. This year however I really think the event should have been cancelled. I'd paid for thursday as well but the site was closed due to weather conditions and then it took 2 hours just to get into the site on Friday and then had to leave on Sunday as it was torrential rain and high winds all day. The site was carnage. Mud, rain and broken tents everywhere. I would recommend the event but only due to previous good experiences. 2024 unfortunately was a complete wash out due to extremely adverse weather conditions. I'd rather have had a refund than endure that kind of weather.

Absolutely fantastic family festival, so friendly, gorgeous dance tent with sofas, kids area is brilliant, rides, healing area, lots going on, family and quiet campsites, loos are cleanest of any festival I've been too which is a bonus! We now go every year, highly recommend

Review of Solfest 2004-2024
I feel bad writing this because it almost was great but a couple of things let it down. The good: nice vibe, positive crowd and genuinely family friendly with enough to amuse my 4 year old for 2 days. Music was good with some notable highlights. Nice mix of food vendors and hippy shops too!
Not so good: lack of communication; there were some issues like entry into the venue (nightmare) and weather (not festivals fault) and artist lineups where there is just no information leaving you feel frustrated. Just some basic social media updates would have helped me to to know they were aware and addressing these issues. The weather

If you want a real festival as they originally were then this is for you. We only originally went because my favourite group ,De la soul, were here but they ended up being the icing on the best cake ever . It was a fantastic event and I would recommend to all
