Review of Jika Jika Festival 2021
Jika Jika Derry. Hi just thought I would air my views of this shambles of a “festival”. I have been to many gigs and festivals over the last 20 years and have never seen a scam as good as this. Waited on the McLaughins bus at Guild hall for 40 min. Got bunked as there was no staff or marshals at this point. On arrival to the venue we where greeted with another queue that seemed to be held up by people that didn’t know what a ticketed event actually was. There was 2 people checking “tickets” We finally got in at around 7pm, left the hotel at 3. We then had to queue for a bracelet to get drinks with, another 30 min wait. We then joined the one queue for the bar at 19:40. We were finally in the barn at 20:15 and here people where cutting the queue in front of staff and marshals who didn’t seem interested. Got to the bar for a drink around 9pm. Asked the lady how many pints I could get with the money on my bracelet but simple maths did not seem to be her thing. I got some beers and there wasn’t even a cardboard tray to transport them. So I had to stand at the bar and drink what I couldn’t carry. Now here is the fun part, I wasn’t for queuing again, so I wanted to use all the money on the bracelet, but was told I couldn’t reorder as “there was people waiting”. Apparently I could get a refund for what was left, with a £1 activation fee and £1 refund fee some money will be made and fair play to who made this up. At other festivals actual beer tokens are bought. This would have sped the process up, less queuing and social distance could have been applied. More than one bar would have been an idea also. A better entrance and exit system would of also been an idea to. Hopefully you can move forward and make the events better in future.

Review of Jika Jika presents Drumcode
Terribly organised event. Queuing up for hours to get in and hours to get a drink. Wristband payment system not being made clear upon entry. Having to pay to activate the wristband (why wasn’t this included in the ticket price?). Too many people in too small an area. Wasn’t allowed to keep the lids from bottles of water I purchased by one of the bar women, asked her why and couldn’t get an answer. No proper lost and found area, lost my wallet and it’s now tuesday and still have no idea how missing items are going to be returned. Tunes were ok but everything else was that s**te it doesn’t matter. Wasn’t worth the money at all, wish I had never went. Avoid at all costs.
