Review of Badly Drawn Boy
BBD was excellent, had some misgivings about venue acoustics based on reviews but those must have been from high end audiophiles. However..
no seats was a big issue for us late fifties folks especially turning up for both support acts we went out looking for a decent nearby pub, my partner dismisses any with gaming machines and could not find one 10 min walk either way. Pity the cafe outside had not been open for basic drinks and coffee as it would have been ideal. Would graze elsewhere next to.e and turn up for main event only. Next..a significant cut of the crowd were using the gig as a catch up so both supports struggled against a very noisy crowd susurrus, making them unlistenable especially whilst searching for comfort leaning against a wall. Thankfully they settled down for BBD although still 1 or 2 knobends who weren"t there for the show talking and annoying others...why, why, why, why? at £25 per ticket...surely there are better and cheaper places to have a natter.
