Review of 999 at the Blackbox Hastings Saturday 13th January 2023
This was my first visit to this venue and I certainly hope to come back soon. The bar staff and the security staff were very welcoming and friendly and I felt safe in the environment (as a 60year old woman). If you like your music venues a little bit retro then this is for you. The stairwell is covered in old vinyl and the music room is black and old-style. Perfect for a back to basics band like 999. It took me back to visiting similar venues back in the late 70s/early 80s minus the cigarette smoke. Ticket prices were reasonable and plenty of parking along the seafront. Should you wish to eat before - there are some wonderful eclectic bars and eateries nearby. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.

What a fabulous night out. 999 were magnificent. They still have the same raw energy and ability to entertain as they did in 1976. This was real music, not manufactured over produced rubbish and it was a delight to be there. It is great that there are these local small venues that put on these music gigs that make it possible for bands like this to continue playing. My message to Black Box is well done, and for old timers like me, more punk bands please !

Review of Empyre at the Blackbox, Hastings Saturday 16th December 2023
The venue was compact and provided a good atmosphere for the band to do their thing. Bar staff friendly. Loved the location in Old Hastings which is quirky and part of the night out! Bottom line is that we had a great night out, no short measure to the fact that Empyre were awesome!

Review of Blackbox Hastings
Brilliant gig . Cardinal Black in Hastings. Superb live . Tom's vocals live are just amazing. Taylor too. Then there is the awesome Chris Buck on guitar. So close to the stage I could see him changing effects pedals. This is a new venue for me at Black Box. Really great place to see a rock band. Sound excellent and close enough to the band to touch the guitar !! Looking forward to the next gig .
