Review of The Gathering
Good music, but desperately needed someone to introduce the acts and enhance the atmosphere and anticipation.
Variety of catering was good, but totally inadequate. Queuing the length of a football pitch for drinks was ridiculous. Queuing an hour for food only to be told they had run out was thoroughly disappointing.
Drunks in the crowd were a nuisance.

Bars need a major rethink for next event. Queuing for hours and not enough choice. Worst I've experienced.
Apart from that, an amazing day. Hope that The Gathering will be a regular event.

Great location and a real family vibe. Mixture of music that suited all age ranges. Had friends over from Oklahoma and they couldn't believe grandparents, parents and children all enjoying a great day out. Something for everyone, they were so impressed with the traditional/modern mix. So glad we had the opportunity to take them to this.

Amazing festival! What a great way to celebrate the Gaelic music and culture! The bands were outstanding and all brought a great atmosphere to the festival! Should definitely come back next year! I'll be there!

Review of The Gathering
There were not enough food outlets resulting in queuing for 1.5 hours to buy food for children. As we were not allowed to bring food in or leave the venue and return after 5 it wasn't possible to get food elsewhere. The food was ridiculously over priced for a captive audience. So although the entry was reasonable we spent more on food and drink (not even alcoholic). This was a big downer for an otherwise excellent event.

Review of The Gathering
Overall I enjoyed the day. I loved the music and it's diversity and the atmosphere at time was electric. I also liked the variety of food available and thought the pricing was reasonable(ish). The beer queues were rediculousy long, (a fortyfive minute wait), prices extortionate and caused tension due to the long wait.
However, the day was spoilt by a persistent drunk, who at one stage manhandled my girlfriend, when she confronted the man he started pushing her around. At this point the incident could have turned quite nasty. The matter was reported to two of the security guys (we were only four rows back during the Vatersay Boys set) by a number of people including myself and no action was taken.
Overall though it was a good day, but room for improvement. Lets not let a small minority spoil it for the rest of us eh?

great festival.. please run this again but with a much bigger bar and more food options - queuing for 90 minutes to get a pizza compromised the experience of the music (which is what its all about). all in all great day

You should be refunding tickets after the Peat and Diesel shambles- the highest charted band in the event not even on the main stage? Unbelievable!
The catering and bar prices were extortionate, and the queues a joke. As for 'security' attempting to stop people leaving at 1600 by saying there was no readmittance.. are they on a cut of the bar takings?
