You can't go wrong with the legendary Jim Mullen, indisputably one of the finest rock and jazz guitarists this country has ever produced, and in such an elegant setting as the 1901 Arts Club. Excellent selection of "old" songs (as he described them) and fantastic support as always from my neig*bour "Sir" Terence Collie and Nick Lenner-Webster on stand-up bass. Like so many of his contemporaries, Jim also has a wicked sense of humour: the final number before the interval "How little we know", was dedicated to Boris Johnson. Not surprisingly the full house audience roared their approval !

Enjoyed the sound and variety of music. All the musicians are very engaging. Will certainly attend other concerts. We love the venue especially the convenience of location. The salon atmosphere is so unique and friendly. Love it.

Beautiful, elegant venue in Edwardian town house. Comfortable and intimate performance area, with cosy bar upstairs. Drinks reasonably priced for London.
Jim Mullen delivered a relaxed set of jazz standards, with elegant and imaginative playing, ably- supported by wonderful pianist and bassist. The communication between the musicians was incredible, and a joy to behold. Jim introduced the numbers with some wry and amusing anecdotes in his distinctive Glaswegian burr. A fine evening's entertainment. Special thanks to Janet and to Trevor for organsing.

Another fun and friendly gig at this lovely venue so convenient for Waterloo station. Great to hear such accomplished musicians doing an acoustic set. There were even young couples canoodling to jazz in the back row, who would have thought!

Another great gig presented by Terry and Janet for Mood Indigo in the very elegant and cosy surroundings of the 1901 Arts Club. Featuring veteran stalwart of the British jazz scene, Art Themen, on tenor and soprano saxes, accompanied by Terry on piano and Nick Lenner-Webster on double bass: both rightly described by Art as being "at the top of their game". And so was he, presenting a lovely variety of jazz standards encompassing the likes of Dexter Gordon, Thelonious Monk and Mal Waldron. The performance was made even more enjoyable by Art's humorous banter as well as multiple "quoting" by all the musicians during their solos creating a sort of "guess that tune" vibe. An excellent evening all round.
