Review of Graham Massey & Umut Caglar
A wonderfully unique and intimate event oozing with creativity. Loved what the guys had produced over their short residency together.
Interesting venue, only really let down by the loo's.

Review of Graham Massey & Umut Caglar
The group were central so the audience could move around them. The soundsystem was just right. The music was hot tight and exciting. After the gig had a good chinwag with the band and audience in the beer garden. We all partied on until the wee small hours.I have never experienced such a warm social welcome. The bar prices were the same as pubs.A relaxed and informal atmosphere.

Saul Williams at Islington Mill - Stunning, intimate gig
An explosive performance, Saul Williams is charismatic, angry, eloquent, and such a generous performer: coming right into the crowd to sing and call out performance poetry "Hack into Descartes and his relationship to doubt!" constantly holding your attention.
Islington Mill is fab, drank and chatted in the lovely courtyard garden beforehand, peeking at the band and retinue as they assembled in their B&B / green room.
The gig venue is a small room, and the crowd was low-lit rather than plunged into darkness, so you could chat to friends and peoplewatch, making it feel totally natural when Williams ventured into the crowd. It felt like a privilege to be there.
Support from Afro Deutsche was great also, will look out for her in future.

Review of Saul Williams
I wasn't a huge fan of the first support act (I'm not really into folky acoustic guitar music), but really enjoyed second support and Saul was wonderful as always. I was disappointed because I had to leave before the end of his set to get the last train home — it would be amazing if headliners could come on at 9 rather than 9.30 to enable people like me who have travelled into Manchester from surrounding areas to catch more of them!
