Eat Static Manchester

This is a copy of an email I have written to the venue Rebellion: Hi, I'm writing to complain about one of your security guards working last night (Eat Static). I've been a fan of Eat Static for many years and I bought two tick*ts for the event when it was announced last autumn. It was to have been the first gig I'd been to for over two years since I suffered a stroke. I drove down from my home in Kendal especially for it, first going to my friend's house in Stockport, then an Uber to Rebellion. The two of us arrived at Rebellion and the street seemed very busy and chaotic. Maybe that's why the security guard behaved to me how he did. He noticed how my speech has changed since the stroke, and said "You're slurring your words mate, you can't come in". I was very shocked. I tried to explain to him, but it was made harder by the fact I'm autistic and find it very hard to cope when anyone is being nasty or unfair to me. He said "you're drunk, you aren't coming in". I said I'm not (I'd had 3 pints of Guinness only). I made a couple more attempts to explain but he interrupted with the same words, you're drunk you aren't coming in, and motioned for me to walk away. I still can't believe he was like that to me. All we could do was order another Uber and go back to my friend's house. I obviously want you to do som**hing about this. Apart from ruining som**hing I'd been looking forward to for two years since thinking maybe I'd never be able to go to a live gig again, it also cost me money for the drive down, the tick*ts, and two Ubers. Also you need to speak with your guard and explain you simply can't assume things about people, or treat them so dismissively. I do understand it must be a tough job, but that's no excuse. I was perfectly polite and calm with him, and I gave him no reason to stop me from entering, except for the way i now speak.
