Review of Festival of Comedy 2024
The comedians were excellent and so was the singer during the breaks. The only negative was there was a lot of confusion with the car park, park and ride. We got dropped off at a T junction the what 3 words non Newport taxi drop off. From there there was no signs to say in what direction to walk! We had a choice of 3 roads to walk down. There was a huge group of people in the same position. One piece of advice, PLEASE have toilets for people whilst waiting to get in, so people have driven a distance to get there.

Music was good - maybe a little more suitable for adults than children though. The venue change was a nightmare.. the park and ride was an absolute joke. Event itself was good but the would never book again at that venue. Much better suited and more organised at Tredegar park.

Changing the venue at short notice was naughty. Won't be buying ticket for next year if its at coronation park. Which is a shame as iv been to every one since it started at Rodney parade

Review of Festival of Comedy 2024
Loved the outdoor venue (glad the weather was ok!) I paid extra for the VIP area which I think was a little overpriced for the minimal extras and would just buy standard tickets next time but overall a good night out.

Review of Disco Kids Newport 2024
Very poorly managed from the start. The wrong address for the park & ride was given out, no post code on the ticket so we had to guess where it was. The shuttle bus was meant to start at 11am, we got there on time and was on the 3rd bus at 12.15pm so we was already late for the start of the festival, we got through the gate at 1.10pm! There was not enough shuttle buses running and they weren't very quick. Putting the 1st act on at the same time the gates open was ridiculous as it meant hardly anyone would have been there to watch them, or those held up by the parking / buses despite getting there an hour early missed them. It became apparent there was another event there too which made it busier. The shrek rave was good for the kids to dance to but that was it really, the science & circus schools were pretty lame, one gazebo and a couple of skinny plates really! There was 2 tiny rides for the little ones and that was basically it! The main tent was ok, some good names but really aimed at the parents which is fine I just think the whole "disco kids" name should be rethought as it wasn't a kids festival it was an adults one with a couple of things for kids to do there.
The price of food & drink was extortionate £5 for a tray of chips! It's Newport people not Glasto!! We weren't allowed food or drink which is a bit much when you have kids who are fussy eaters.
On the whole I know it was cheap but we won't be back again

Review of Festival of Comedy 2024
Booked this on the early bird after enjoying last years so much and the comedy didn't disappoint again this year. We were slightly put out by the late change of venue as Tredegar park as the venue was one of the main reasons for booking. The set up of the show and top notch line up made the gig very good value for money. The drinks on offer were better this year with the beer vending machines as it meant we didn't need to by overpriced cans of Budweiser.
Only real downer was most of the food places had run out of options during this the interval which meant we had limited choice.
I would highly recommend this as you won't get a line up as strong for the money anywhere else. However I'd be made up if the event returned to Tredegar park next year 😉
