Review of Festival of Comedy 2024
Fab festival but VIP area had a large party of annoyingly loud people who caused us to have to leave as we couldn't hear the acts. Told the stewards but they couldn't care less.

Review of Disco Kids Newport 2024
The event venue had no on site parking. The nearest car parking facilities were just over a mile away which was disappointing. There was a park & ride service available which I wasn't aware of as when I purchased my tickets the venue was listed as Tredegar Park but this was later changed to Coronation Park. The event started at 12:00 but the entry/security queues went on for a about 300-400m, so we didn't get in the event until 12:45.
There was a very small selection of rides for little ones: car carousel £2.50pp, hook a duck £4 & teacups, £2.50pp.
The Shrek rave was very good, good atmosphere there and just fun. The main stage held a dance competition all afternoon. The rave tent was okay, but not great for a family event. Very loud and dark (as expected - so take ear muffs for your children), but it was full of people smoking despite signs & leaving their half drunk beer cans all over the floor. I couldn't let me 3 year old & 18m old walk around in there.
I would have liked to have seen more entertainment tailored to the younger children and teens but other than the Shrek Rave, a sports tent & baby sensory Station there wasn't really anything there for them. You can spend a pleasant 2-3hrs here and I would likely go again in the future but the prices are astronomical at the bar/ice cream & food vendor stalls which did dampen the overall feel of the day a little. A standard ice cream cone was £3.50, £5.50 if you wanted a flake & sprinkles. Sparkling/Still water was £4.50 at the bar. If you're going as a family of 4 then be prepared to spend a fair whack on food & drinks as you're not allowed to take any in to the event.

Great acts. Venue was fine but I missed it being in Tradegar Park. Having said that, it was so well organised. Really good value for money for the tickets. However, the drinks and the food was too expensive to enjoy too much.

Review of Disco Kids Newport 2024
Was a good day but wouldn't do it again. In that destination too. And also the prices were absolutely ridiculous especially if you have more than one child. Would have been nice to be able to take a picnic. As we were told we wasn't aloud to take outside food and drinks but getting into the park people were pulling out all there food! So wasn't fair some people was aloud and others not.

Fantastic event, music and venue. Shame the prices for foodand drink is overly priced especially seeing as not allowed to take in own picnic food especially when the event was aimed at families with young children.

Review of Party At The Park Newport
Taxi service was rubbish at one point there was over 200 people in the que, taxis were just driving past, the lady who was with the event was trying her best to get them to stop which was very difficult.
Music tents were to close to each other which resulted in you could hear two different types of music.
No noodles this year which was a let down for me,.
£6.50 a can of cider or lager is a RIP off know wonder so many people were bringing there own drink in.
I had a blue ticket which I was not offered a half price or free ticket for my partner.
Over all great day enjoyed every minute of it thank you.

Review of Festival of Comedy 2024
The location was difficult to get to for me given that Tredegar Park is on my doorstep.
I know its a festival but the food and drink was still a bit pricey for Newport.
The acts were of their usual high standard. Even Hal Cruttendon who I've now seen 3 times all in Newport and he's reh**hed the same gag on each occasion.

Review of Disco Kids Newport 2024
I was really looking forward to this event but so so disappointed. The main stage in the tent was good and the shrek rave was fun. Honestly everything else was a let down. Big stage with a kids dance show- why? Totally boring if its not your kid. Science shows - too small for so many kids no way to join in. Circus skills - just a load of stuff dumped in a tent with no one showing the kids what to do. That was it for free stuff. Everything else was ridiculously priced. £15 quid for 3 on the waltzers?? Crazy. £3.50 for a can? Total rip off! No water stations anywhere so you HAD to buy drinks once the sealed water you were permitted to bring in was gone. Not worth the £49 I paid for a family. Not enough is included in this proce to make it worth while.
