Review of Fusion 25th Anniversary Trilogy - Northampton
Firstly we booked VIP tickets as the Early Birds had "sold out" and the VIP were the same price as standard.
About a week later more Early Birds suddenly became available, so we lost out on £8 each there due to trying to buy tickets earlier than we needed to.
Then the HAS room was cancelled with a weeks notice. We had booked tickets on the premise / promise of there being Hardcore and Old skool (neither of us like Drum & Bass)
On arrival both rooms were playing D&B, there were no set times announced so we could organise our night to ensure we didn't miss anyone we wanted to see.
Old skool was mainly in the front room, which was ok, but so many of the sets were very repetitive, with certain tracks being played almost every set.. the original version of Elysiuim being one of them. first time you hear it Great, 2nd time OK, 3rd & 4th times excessive.
The amount of available music to choose from is immense, but it seemed the same tracks & themes were being played over and over. You would expect a different set from Druid to Sy, but even with their mainly contrasting styles there were too many crossovers & the same tracks being played again. Some of the DJ's were even at the venue to hear the previous set but still the same tracks were played.
smoking area was very small at the side & front of the building, quite cramped.
The VIP room was closed early & everyone moved downstairs from the balcony area early.
Overall rather disappointed with the night TBH as it could have been so much better. We attended the event in February and really enjoyed it, which is why we came to this one, along with the good reputation Fusion has of putting on a good party, but we left disappointed with the quality of the music.
On the plus side we did meet some lovely people and had a good laugh.

Review of Fusion 25th Anniversary Trilogy - Northampton
It was an 'Ok' night out, been to many raves over the last 10/12 years. But what with all the hype of this one and the brand name we expected a lot more. All the headliners were on first thing so when we arrived an hour and a half into it we had missed most people. Only 2 rooms were open instead of the usual 4/5. No jungle music. It was either drum and bass or cheesy hard-core, no old school happy hard-core, no jungle, proper room filling bangers were far and few between...had a better time in the smoking area from 1am onwards

There seems to be a lack of effort from whoever is running the Roadmender now. Had vip tickets but still stood in a long queue for security checking. Fine with that. Even the artists had to queue up. Rediculous. It dudnt help that ths Hardcore room hosted by HAS was cancelled. That was my main reason for going.
