Review of Sam Wilkes & Sam Amidon live in Shrewsbury
Musically very accomplished, but communication to audience poor. I did not know which of the 'Sams' was which. One of the Sams was an excellent fiddle player, however he needed to project his voice a lot more. But was that the fault of the sound system ? The other Sam was completely unintelligible. I was only sitting 6 rows back and could not understand a word he was saying.
Another vocalist-female ?-would have added a richer texture to some of the songs. Overall well worth going to see, but don't perform in public if you don't want to communicate with your audience. You might be a tortured artist, but no need to be a pain in the butt.

Review of Sam Wilkes & Sam Amidon live in Shrewsbury
Fantastic music and a lovely venue for it, intimate but not cramped. loved every minute. My only disappointment was that it didn't go on all night ! When are they coming back? Well done to the whole team.
