Review of Sign of the Times
This was our first time at The Sign of the times festival. We travelled here as the camper calling festivals acts were not to our liking this year and these obviously were. We were not disappointed at all with the line up. Great value indeed. We also purchased the posh showers and loos extra but although the showers were generally clean the toilets after day 1 were not posh at all and that the general public loos were much cleaner. Now it wasn't an easy weekend to keep everything clean due to the thick mud but never once did I see anyone clean the toilets or showers. I thought this would have to be done at least every hour like any public house rota system but it certainly wasn't. Was the festival caught out because of the weather possibly because we definitely had a lot more rain than forecasted but this needs to be looked at.
Inside security was good. Good thorough search on the way in. £6.50 for a draught pint was the same as Glasto the week before which is fine but £6.50 a can is too steep.
Food stalls were good with a nice selection and some interesting bucket hats to purchase on show. The bridge in my opinion was a little dangerous to cross as wet mud on top of wet plywood can be lethal . I saw at least half a dozen people slip and get plastered. It did have scaffolding either side but it needed signs to say use as a hand rail. Unless you have got good boots and balancing you could be in trouble. Overall great festival with people in great spirits considering it wasn't easy conditions but organisers had been caught out due to bad weather. Needed more staff

Great festival for festival novices! All in easy reach. Good lineup and only 2 stages to negotiate. We took the glamping option. The vip bit felt a bit lacking tbh wasn't made aware if/where any pamper station was and it would make sense to allow some access to the other vip areas in some way or offer a cheaper upgrade considering the outlay! Considering the mud it was still a great event and would thoroughly recommend

We have just got home after an amazing 3 days of wonderful music! The weather was awful and the field turned into a quagmire but it really didn't dampen anyone's spirits. The whole event was really well organised and the quality of all the acts was amazing! Good variety of food and drink to be had vThank you SOTT - we had a great time!!

Music great
Food great
Shops were all great
Bars great
Sadly no water in the live in vehicle area, people stuck in mud with no staff to help. No support staff anywhere. Very rude and grumpy security staff. We felt totally abandoned in that top field.
2 music stages too close together so music clashed and was difficult to hear unless you went into the mud bog at the front.
So called posh toilets an absolute joke. Filthy and unusable by Saturday morning. Not cleaned or serviced all weekend. No water in the skinks and showers totally disgusting. I'd have come out dirtier than when I went in if I'd dare to use it.
I think SOTT need to do a lot more planning for this festival to become a success. We usually go to latitude but thought we'd try something different. We won't be back.

An excellent value music festival which prioritised quality acts over quantity; it's nice to be able to catch all acts on the well curated bill.
Staff were all friendly, with no queues at bars and a decent selection of food on offer. Toilets were plentiful.
Tent camping was good and showers were available. The car park was only a short walk to the camping field.
Wood chippings in high traffic areas might have been better to combat inclement weather.

Review of Sign of the Times
I completed a lengthy application for accessible camping (which we were granted), including providing medical supporting evidence and lots of emails. My partner and I were sent an email to present on entering the festival, which entitled us to camp in the accessible area. We were told straight away, by security, that this area was full, and we would have to find somewhere else to camp. We were sent on a wild goose chase, involving leaving the site twice and re-entering. No-one had any idea what we should do and where we could pitch our tent. In the end a member of the security team just pointed to a space on the live-in vehicle field. Due to the heavy rain, we pitched our tent as quickly as we could, and didn't take in the fact that we were at the very highest point of the festival site, and it would have been impossible for my partner, who has significant mobility issues, to get down the steep hill or up again. Because of this, we were unable to even consider attempting to get into the arena. Therefore, we stayed in our tent all night, packed everything up in the morning and went home. I have heard at least 4 other people say that they were promised accessible camping, but were informed that it was full on arrival. I have basically paid £180 for sitting in a tent in a field for one night. Without an accessible camping facility, I would not have purchased tickets for my partner and myself; the level of organisation was shambolic - no-one seemed to have any idea what was going on, nor who to ask and how to help us. I will be requesting a full refund.

I selected good for venue as local to my home. However it is a challenging venue as not flat so camping was on a slope, which made sleeping & cooking difficult.
There were insufficient portaloo for the campervan section & I believe they were not serviced as frequently as needed. Also no drinking water available in the campervan section.
The music was great and the event ran to time. The food concessions were reasonably priced as was the bar.
A great weekend despite the weather - mudfest! Additional seating in the venue would have helped as too muddy to sit on the ground.

Review of Sign of the Times
This was my third year and although the last two years had great line ups, this year was very disappointing with only a couple of bands that I wanted to see. The early bird price was good though so I took a chance! Unfortunately the big blue tent was so loud and not in a great position so the two stage's sounds were clashing badly. The atmosphere was good despite the rain and mud and everyone seemed to have fun. Hope to see a better line up in future. Nice and friendly security and toilets kept very clean this year and the organisation seemed fine for most things but maybe have plastic walkways or more straw in case of rain next year to soak up the mud. Also a cover for the people in the disabled area would be nice! Still love SOTT but hope for improvements next year xx
