Review of RAJ feat. Stuart Henderson & Vasilis Xenopoulos
Mood Indigo run fantastic monthly jazz events at The Riverside Arts Centre bringing in many of the best jazz musicians on the scene. Tonight’s gig was exceptional (with the added festive mulled wine and mince pies adding to the occasion!). Theses concerts take a lot of hard work to organise, prep the room, sound system, live stream etc and all done to a high level with no funding and so are reliant on the ticket sales! Great to see it busy but wish the audiences are this good all year round! We need these events to keep going!
Great stuff!

Review of Jason Rebello - My Life In Music
Watched it live on YouTube due to illness. Camera angles set perfectly for the interview. Jason Rebello’s fascinating music story flowed excellently from Terence Collie’s appropriate open questions. This is an incredible story! The subsequent amazing Rebello solo performance (separate event) and finale of the two pianists duets was superb. Billie’s Bounce? Wow!

Review of Jason Rebello - My Life In Music
A very enjoyable and informative evening. During the first half of the show, Terry Collie chatted with Jason about his career, going right back to his childhood and up to date. Jason was charming and open with his answers.
The second half consisted of some great solo piano work by Jason and then a surprising and fantastic couple of duets between him and Terrie. Great!

Review of Jason Rebello - My Life In Music
What a wonderful and charismatic virtuoso musician, and such an interesting life thus far!
A slight shame that there was not a larger audience to lift the evening higher still.
Would highly recommend anyone to see and hear Jason Rebello.

Review of Steve Waterman - RAJ
Another quality gig featuring top notch musicians this time featuring veteran of the UK scene Steve Waterman on trumpet and flugelhorn, supported by ever-dependable Stuart Barker on double bass (a former student of Steve's), the excellent Mitch Perrins on drums and our own Terry C. producing his mesmerising trademark fast runs on piano. Nice variety of largely familiar numbers including Up Jumped Spring and Little Sunflower (Freddie Hubbard), Recorda Bossa Nova (Hank Mobley), Hanky Panky (Dexter Gordon) and All Blues (Miles Davis), together with a couple of Steve's own compositions including a take on Dexter G's Cheesecake called "Welshcake" in honour of the tasty sweetmeat. Please keep them coming, Terry and Janet !

Review of His \'n\' Hers with Dave and Judith O\'Higgins
Welcome return for one of the stalwarts of the UK jazz scene, with the added ingredient of his missus forming a dual front line sax attack. Great choice of material from their excellent His 'n Hers album including originals and standards such as Lover Man, a storming I'll Remember April, Save Your Love For Me and Dexter Gordon's Soy Califa. The whole gig topped off with a lovely touch of humour in Dave's banter: the opening number (taken from the album) being a "tribute" to those of our fellow citizens who stripped the supermarket shelves of toilet paper during the early stages of Covid lockdown "Los Banditos Bogorolles" and a new track recalling those days when England were regularly thrashed by the W. Indies at cricket "Calypso Collapso". Usual peerless support from Terry C. aided this time by bassist Paul Michael and the perennial Clark Tracey on the drum kit. A total bargain at under twenty quid.

Review of His \'n\' Hers with Dave and Judith O\'Higgins
Excellent and very enjoyable performance by Dave and Julia O'Higgins, very ably supported by a trio comprising Terence Collie, Paul Michael and Clark Tracey. I've seen David perform a number of times over the years but not heard Judith play before. She was a revelation and their playing complemented each other's so well.
The sound and site lines at the venue are great and drinks prices very reasonable. The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming.

Review of Riverside Jazz Jam
This jazz jam struck a lovely balance, mixing entertainment from the excellent house band musicians with guest players being able to perform in a non threatening environment. Add to this the enjoyment of playing in a real theatre, a bar, clean facilities and parking near bye and you have the ingredients for a great evening, thank you!
