Review of A Night of Latin Jazz - Guillermo Hill
Super evening of South American-inspired jazz led by stylish Uruguayan guitarist Guillermo supported by the fast runs and montuno-style piano of Mr Mood Indigo, Terry Collie, plus an excellent three-piece rhythm section, including the ever-reliable Dave Jones on bass guitar. Excellent choice of mid- and uptempo material drawn from various Brazilian and Uruguayan songwriters, plus an original from Guillermo himself to finish the second set. Some good-natured disagreement over who wrote the classic Mambo Inn, plus an intervention by stalwart audience member Bryan Collins protesting at the non-mention of guitarist Steve Khan for "Steve Khan's Blues", just added to the fun. And all this in spite of Terry and Janet having to improvise over the venue layout at the last minute, which meant that the intended livestream had to be abandoned. Well done everyone !

Review of Tribute to Michael Garrick with Tony Woods and Nette Robinson
Very enjoyable event featuring Nette Robinson who collaborated with the great Michael Garrick before his passing, as well as the other musicians who worked with him on his last projects. Nette has a great voice as well as many fascinating and amusing recollections of working with him. Very special mention for MIE's own Terry Collie who had to learn and adapt (admirably) to a whole new repertoire.

Review of Georgina Jackson
Georgina put the audience at ease right from the start with her warm personality. A wonderful evening of solid mainstream jazz from a good singer and musician. I would definitely pay to see her again. Highly recommended.

Review of Paul Booth
I have to admit that I'd not come across Paul Booth before even those he's clearly been around for ages and played with a who's who of world class musicians. So no surprise that we were treated to some superb musicianship and a great selection of numbers, including Paul's own excellent compositions such as Seattle Fall (a massive Spotify hit apparently !) plus a classy selection of standards, including Autumn In NY and a brilliant version of Caravan. Terrific rhythm section of Ollie Hayhurst on bass and ever-reliable Ted Carrasco filling in for indisposed Clark Tracey on drums. Fantastic keyboard work as ever from our own Terry Collie, who also had to do the MC-ing as Janet had come down with the virus. Wishing her a speedy recovery.

Review of Brecon Jazz London Day
Another triumph for Terry and Janet, and no I'm not their agent ! Brilliant idea to link up with the renowned Brecon Jazz Fest, so that we got three excellent gigs and the BJF spread its reach to London.
Started off with Terry's trio, this time comprising the superb Flo Moore on bass and everyone's favourite drummer, Sophie Alloway. Apart from the musicianship on display, we were treated to three original compositions by Terry, all of which easily stood alongside the standards on display. This man's talent knows no end !
Regretfully I had to miss the second set performed by the Rachael Cohen Quartet, but by all accounts they fully lived up to their growing reputation.
The day concluded with the Edison Herbert Quartet featuring a super set heavily influenced by the great George Benson, and none the worse for that. We were even treated to the quartet encoring in a collaboration with Janet on a touching version of "Beautiful Love".
Apart from the seamless technical arrangements managed by Terry, the whole event was ably hosted by BJF's DeeLee Dube who even chipped in with a beautiful rendition of On A Clear Day. Fingers crossed this will become an annual collaboration.

Review of Brecon Jazz London Day
Thoroughly enjoyed this event. There was an impressive variety of music played by absolutely brilliant musicians and with good acoustics and sensitive lighting the venue felt intimate enough to really listen and enjoy.. the hosts mood indigo couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful.
Good spaces between acts enabled my friend and I to explore the local area and find a good choice of venues for late brunch so all in all a great day out
Hope this happens again

Review of Band Craft - Workshop for Jazz Singers with Kate Mullins
A really great day. Kate is an amazing tutor, giving good feedback to each student tailored to their level of expertise and experience. She then gave a wonderful performance in the evening, demonstrating everything she had taught us.

Review of Maciek Pysz
I wasn't previously aware of Maciek's music, but was very impressed by his selection of standards and original compositions, not to mention his superb guitar playing. Great choice by Mood Indigo to book him and super rhythm section of Mark Rose and Sophie Alloway. As always MI's own Terry Collie provided classy support on piano. Much praise too for the RAC's bar staff who kept us supplied with a steady stream of refreshments.
