Review of Super Sonix 16+ Halloween Special
My friends and I had an incredibly bad and disappointing experience at the Super Sonix event on October 31st in Wolverhampton. We started to queue up and after a 10 minute wait in line, a security guard took my friend's water, wrongly accused her of underage drinking, and forced her to leave immediately, grabbing on her arm. When we questioned his actions, he shouted at her to exit the queue, prompting us all to leave with her.
Later, as we rejoined the line, the same guard informed another staff member that my friend and now I (we are mixed race) were not allowed entry, while our two white friends were let in without issue. This felt incredibly unfair, especially since we saw many white girls and boys drinking without being questioned.
Our white friends spoke to the guard and asked why me and my friend weren't allowed in and he told them he will speak to us in a minute. Our friends called us over to relay what the guard had said, but he saw us talking and then accused me and my mixed-race friend of trying to "sneak in." We were just conversing with our friends on the other side of the barrier, and we had already had our tick*ts scanned, so there was no way we could have been sneaking in. Ultimately, we were all kicked out of the line and told to go home. We were furious after spending £30 on tick*ts and £20 on a train, only to be denied entry. Another security guard asked if we were under 18 and whether we had a way to get home. Since we were all under 18 and couldn't catch the train for a few hours, she spoke to the main guard ( the one who kicked all of us out the queue), who simply told her not to let us in.
After standing outside for an hour, we tried to rejoin the queue and after another 10 minutes, faced the same guard who once again told us to leave. Eventually, after speaking to him, we were finally allowed in.
This experience highlighted some serious issues: the apparent racism of the security staff, their aggressive handling of the situation, physically touching and pushing teenagers and the overall poor management of the event. We left feeling cheated and frustrated, having wasted our time and money. My friends and I will not return to this event again.

Review of Super Sonix 16+ Halloween Special
Having spoken to my son who attended and then arriving to pick up my child after the event it is clearly terribly mismanaged.. drunk girls on the floor in an over 16 event. Children laying on the ground, clearly intoxicated. Police in attendance boys, with no tops on clearly looking for a fight and all in all coming from the security industry, which I used to work in all I saw was door staff who clearly could not manage the crowd.. charging a small fortune for a tick*t and then failing to ensure adequate security does not compute. Also, how young people are allowed into an event intoxicated is beyond me and after speaking with my son, I am now aware that not only were people drinking alcohol, but drugs were also being offered to people. Clearly this type of event is a money making scheme with no thought, given to the safety and security of the young people, you mark*t too. If you cannot ensure children safety, then employ a security team who run the doors with precision, and also employ a sniffer dog to make sure that there are no drugs being smuggled in that you have missed. I am not stupid and I do not think that it will always remain drug-free, but you should at least have measures in place to try to stop this.
