Review of Soul Town Festival 2024
Had a fabulous day, my only criticism would be that the price of food and drink could be a bit cheaper. £2.50 for a bottle of water when I know for a fact they only cost about 30p from the wholesaler is a bit much, and £3 for a can of soft drink is extortionate. I really enjoyed my day though and would definitely go again.

Our 1st time at this festival. It definitely won't be our last. It was so amazing, despite the cool weather.
There was problems with the microphone for some of the acts but apart from one act, they were professional and made sure it didn't affect the overall enjoyment.
So much choice for food. The prices were very reasonable and the food was hot and delicious.
Prices for the rides were expensive but added to the range of entertainment available.
If you haven't been, I highly recommend this event!

A superb Festival packed with simply wonderful Performances from classic Artists. Loved the excellent sound system but needed additional speakers-systems around the arena. Some lesser comments:
-the ferris-wheel should face the main stage as was sideways and views hidden by solid side-panels.
-as 'standard' tickets not allowed to bring seats (just for very expensive & 'sold-out' VIP tickets) really needed a lot more haybales & provided seats- very long days just to be standing all the time- especially for more senior festival- attendees.
-exploitative drinks prices....

Although we were told we couldn't bring seating in others did without challenge.There was very little seating without this and it is a long day to stand all day ( or have to sit on the ground) .It would dramatically improve the experience to bring seats in.
Also the acts did not start on time and that meant the headline act did a very short set -which was a shame .

Only suggestion is to have greater range of Afro-Caribbean food trucks... the queue for Jerk chicken was insane. Plus it wasn't authentic jerk chicken... so could have been better. Otherwise all good ;)

Great location. Nice and easy to get there and park.
Great park for the venue. The security and bar staff were all super friendly.
We will be back especially at this location.
We booked late so maybe the reason tickets were over 60 each.
Otherwise it was great.

Where do I start....trying to rekindle our childhood thinking we are still in our twenties... Sister and I (58,62) decided to go on the ferris wheel.....couldn't look, didn't want to look, too petrified to look...the result....had to sit on the grass for 30 minutes until equilibrium was restored. Once back to normal, we ventured into the unknown portaloo abyss. Okay, so we didn't get the memo that we had to pump the peddle for dear life to flush....result....had to sit down again because our arthritic legs gave way. Once back to normal..we decided to participate in more alcohol abuse thinking we were like all the youngsters that were there.... Result.. had to take a power nap to recover. Once back to normal...we decided that it would be a responsible thing for us to do and have something to eat before more alcohol abuse. Yummy...Sri Lankan food and noodles back to normal again we ventured into the crowd to dance. We are no spring chicken, even though we look good...hips and legs decided that we should have a rest again. All this sitting down on the grass and standing up made us giddy (would have liked more seating - but serves us right for not going for the VIP option). Seeing all the youngsters singing along word for word to the groups and songs brought out our competitive spirit to sing louder than them with a makeshift microphone in our hands...result!...sister lost her voice (great for everyone around her but not her..oh well). Brilliant day out for us fogeys trying relive our youth. More surprised about how many youngsters were there.... and mums with their daughters ...it was great to see. Only thing that could have been better was the weather (we went Saturday). It was a bit windy.... and trying to dance whilst holding on to my wig well that's a different story lol lol. All in all we had a great time at our very first soul festival made better by there was no trouble at all (my sister and I told to be on our best behaviour by our very mature, responsible (boring) children who didn't fancy visiting the police station) . So we didn't get too sloshed, (couldn't afford to.. drinks definitely not pension friendly), didn't chat up any of the security guards. Met some lovely people. Had fun, dancing, memories and lots of laughter. Thank you x

Review of Soul Town Festival 2024
Had a fantastic day on Sunday at Soul Town. We booked VIP tickets as it was our 40th wedding anniversary and we treated one of our best friends to her ticket too. We went for the Sunday as one of our favourite groups when we were all teenagers was Earth, Wind and Fire . However what was very disappointing was the Earth Eind and Fire experience came on stage at 8.35, 35 minutes later then billed. This meant they only played a few songs before apologising and leaving the stage. It seemed that many acts came on stage late and then there were gaps between each act. Before Earth, Wind and Fire came on stage there was three quarters of an hour gap where nothing was going on, no back round music to keep the atmosphere going. This was our first experience of the event and we loved it, but were very disappointed with the end as we were so looking forward to dancing and singing along to our favourite tunes.
