Review of 8.30pm - Carlisle City of Lights: SCIENCE Son-et-Lumiere
The main room was incredible in terms of graphics and soundscape, we didn’t enjoy the loud narration from the other rooms- it interfered with the ambience and was too imposing - that would have been better as an opt in/ opt out version with headphones or other method. Outside was fabulous and the staff were very accommodating at the Cathedral.
At the castle, it appeared the staff were bored and stood moaning together for a while. A shame as the Cathedral was the opposite experience.
It was a cold evening so perhaps provide staff with heat sources and hot drinks to bring cheer…
Other than that- it was great. Thank you.

Review of 6.45pm - Carlisle City of Lights: SCIENCE Son-et-Lumiere
Excellent event, amazing lights! Liked how it was it at the cathedral and the castle and how you followed the lights to get between the two. Only criticism was the music was slightly louder than I would have liked. Other than that a fantastic experience.

Very good value for money, and it was great to be able to visit the interior of Carlisle Cathedral again. Well written information. Will visit again.

Review of 7.00pm - Carlisle City of Lights: SCIENCE Son-et-Lumiere
The music and light displays were awesome. My only complaint is that ie was very cold outside and I should have had an extra layer, but there is not much the organisers can do about that! 🤣

Review of 7.30pm - Carlisle City of Lights: SCIENCE Son-et-Lumiere
This was a most enjoyable event. The route was well planned and easy to follow, accessible for wheelchair users too. It was an interesting theme: science, which made for some marvellous graphics. The cathedral chancel was like a giant kaleidoscope. The buildings made really good backdrops. In addition to all this, there were lasers galore sending their beams out to add to the atmosphere. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. Refreshments were available. We found the music a little loud at times, hence only 3 stars, but otherwise a brilliant night out. I especially liked a picture of Isaac Newton projected onto the castle with an apple falling past his face. It would have been helpful to know how long each presentation lasted.

Review of 6.30pm - Carlisle City of Lights: SCIENCE Son-et-Lumiere
The show in the Cathedral was a little chaotic as in people did not really know where they were going and what to do. However the light show was very good when we finally got in to the main area, lighting in the grounds was also good. We particularly liked the lights inside the castle although there the music was overly loud.
