Review of Doncaster Hot Air Balloon Festival
First time here and we loved it fabulous family day out we will be coming again next year but fully armed with a picnic as the food prices were extortionate we found one donut stall that was reasonably priced and a few if the rides were a good price but others way over the top I assume they set there own prices but really £5 for hook a duck where you usually win something that you get in a £1 shop but overall a fabulous day

Review of Doncaster Hot Air Balloon Festival
Only 2 balloons went up this is not a festival like Bristol balloon festival which has hundreds of balloons. The only good thing was plenty of free parking but there is still an entrance fee and rides and vendor stands Beth expensive. The live entertainment was hard to be seen due to the amount of people and hardly any stalls

Review of Doncaster Hot Air Balloon Festival
Usual selection of fairground rides and eating options. The American civil war and Viking encampments were really Interesting. Being able to handle most of the items was good especially for the children The civil war quiz for the children was good and informative. The members of these enactment groups were friendly and willing to spend time giving information.
The one disappointment was the timing of the hot air balloon take offs. We missed this as our grandsons had travelled to the event and had to leave to get home and bed.

Review of Doncaster Hot Air Balloon Festival
Viewing of the stunt bikes was hampered by everyone crowding to the front of the barriers and by several black huts, poorly positioned - why couldn't they go on the far side where the trailers/campervans were and no viewing?
Don't know how you improve this, other than asking people to be sensible and sit at the front and then standing behind, but numpties just push to the front and walk all over your blankets...
A reasonable selection of food outlets and beer service was quick which is not always the case. The inflatables near the entrance were a rip-off in my book, I am sorry but 5 minutes for £4 per child is really, really poor - surely 10 minutes would make sense at this price point?
The climbing wall (£5, no time limit I could determine, other than reaching the top and hitting the button) made up for the inflatables, as long as the staff put your child on a route which gives them a chance based on their height/reach which was not the case with my 6 year old, however I asked for a different route which he was able to navigate. The ten minute queuing was worth the wait.
