Review of Monument Festival
Who is extremely mad, to the point you couldn't get in the tents safely. They finally put boards down to land single people to access the tents but this wasn't too much later in the day. They have a last entry part sea of 8 pm, but this also includes people who already been in today. So if you wanted to knit back your tent to get some, warm clothes they wouldn't allow as she couldn't enter back in after 8 pm. Was alright, nothing to worry about also cancelled

I know festivals can't help the weather but the ground was an absolute state from an event the previous week & it didn't look like they'd done anything to try & sort (sand, sawdust, pebbles etc) which I'm assuming was part of the reason the headliner cancelled. There wasn't enough toilets for the amount of people, queues were bigger than bar & food queues. The free parking was a joke, no one advising people where to park so with the ground being boggy, everyone had parked round the edges leaving no gaps for cars to get into the field apart from two & cars just parked anywhere, no rows to make it easy to get on or off. I spoke to the steward & he just said it wasn't his problem!!!

The headline act that we bought tickets because they where the headline act , didn't show up and we weren't informed until 3 hours into the event
The toilets were disgusting , there was no one cleaning or restocking the toilets and there where not enough for the number of people there
We want a full refund as the Kooks where a no show

Great festival for the north east. The sound quality could have been better, but considering it's an independent organiser I think they've done amazing. All the negative comments I've seen are clearly people who've never been to an actual festival. Yes there's mud and yes the toilets aren't pristine that's just the way it is!

I'm so disappointed with this event. I bought tickets for mt partner because he's a big looks fan only to find out when we arrived they had cancelled. We left early and if they allow the headlining act to cancel the day of the event once I'd imagine they'd do it again so don't go!

Review of Monument Festival
The toilets had not been emptied from last week and were not fit for use.
The ground was very soft and the mud trying to get into the tents was dangerous.
Even the Kooks management thought the site was in a right state hence they cancelled.
A serious rethink needed for next year if it goes a head.

Absolutely ruined by the lack of straw to cover the 'Other' Stage ground, which prevented us from watching most of the bands which we had bought the tickets to see. We arrived at midday, and the the ground was already a complete quagmire. Not good enough. Also, telling your clientelle that the headline act on the main stage, The Kooks, had cancelled only when they arrive at the venue, when it was obviously a consequence of the 'IT Outage' of two days beforehand, was conscious dishonesty. As a sunsequent slap in the face to my party, whose second favourite act after The Kooks was Badly Drawn Boy, his set was an utter let down. He didn't bother bringing a backing band and spent his entire set explaining irrelevant life experiences which we could hardly hear through the digital delay on his vocal mike. I bought our tickets mainly on merit of the melodies which he didn't bother singing. We had to go home before the Stereo MCs or Ned's Atomic Dustin came on because of the mud. Utter SH*T.

Review of Monument Festival
- We mainly bought tickets to see The Kooks and we were extremely disappointed that they pulled out of playing the festival on the day of the event. The lineup without them on is simply not worth the money and we would not have paid for the tickets if they were not on the original lineup. The reasoning for their cancellation was because of health and safety and I do not think this concern was relayed as the festival still went ahead.
- The condition of the ground in the arena was horrific. Both inside the tents and outside, the ground was a complete bog and it was difficult to move around in. Some areas were very difficult to get around especially for wheelchair users. We witnessed first hand someone in a wheelchair being lifted over the mud to even get into the tent which is simply unacceptable.
- The state of the toilets was disgraceful. What made this problem worse was the smell that came from the toilets into the tents and across the arena site. It was disgusting to stand in the tent far away from the toilets and still smell the atrocity of what people have left behind.
