Review of Monument Festival
The bands were awesome and even though they didn't run to time as planned we were kept up to date. Kooks cancelled which was crap of them but Jake Bugg was brilliant as main act. Staff were really friendly and helpful . Downsides, the toilets we vile, not cleaned at all or serviced during the day so no toilet paper and no hand wash. The site was also really muddy, not from festival goers but by the plant installing the stages and equipment. Surely this could have been addressed. Litter was everywhere as bins were overflowing. Lack of cleaning and site staff really let the festival down on what otherwise was a great day.

Review of Monument Festival
Disappointed, Kooks pulled out last minute and you can understand why. The place was a bog. Poor sound quality. The Ks walked off in frustration with the sound but thanks fully came back on to finish their set. £28 for a bottle of wine which was disgusting 🤮. Happy to pay for quality but that was not. £2.50 for a bottle of water was steep too. The toilets were covered in mud and despite wearing wellies myself and my kids all slipped inside the portals. Very disappointed and won't be back again!

Review of Monument Festival
Ok for a small local festival but headline act cancelled and wasn't informed. Very limited seating and as weather in the lead up was bad, couldn't really just sit on the floor. Some food vendors over priced, low quality drinks at the bar.
Jake Bugg was brilliant which made it worthwhile

Poor again... on a lovely day, muddy and I mean ground churned up, inside and outside the venue, we did not even attempt to go into the smaller marque. 3 lads one bucket no loo roll to clean, not enough toilets. Main act cancelled so rearranging messed everything up. Staff great Herrington park is a lovely venue but oh my gosh poor site management!

Dire organisational skills from the Monument Festival at Herrington Park. Not enough toilet's and even early on first thing you could tell they had not been cleaned properly from previous events. Entrances into the arena music tents could of been better prepared with flooring for safer access. Main headliners the kooks pulled out as they couldn't get on the grounds only to be told when we arrived they weren't performing. Poor communication skills in notifying anybody attending. The previous night was supposed to be Pete Tong classical event at same venue, he pulled out and decided it was too unsafe 2 hours before his event. Whoever organised this event is poor and should of thought of every eventuality as this is British weather we have so nothing unusual, it's normal. If Glastonbury artists can still perform with no problems with there artists getting access to the venue so can this place. No excuses excepted.

Billed as the best in the northeast, well if this is the best the northeast has to offer then in future I'll be staying at home down south.
WELCOME TO S**TVILLE!
First of all I want management at Skiddle to contact me with an email address that I can get hold of them with. I WANT MY MONEY BACK.
Yes we all know the UK weather can play havoc with summer festivals but this is only when the organisers don't have a clue. And this set up certainly doesn't.
On arrival the first thing to hit you is the stench of cow s**t. The ground was a little bit soft under foot but inside the two Marquees what a joke. A combination of cow manure and mud with the consistency of custard. A massive marquee tent and where does all the rain runoff go from the roof? straight off the roof giving you a nice moat of sludge around the tents especially at the entrances.
Marquees 2 was so bad at the entrance you either risked the cow slurry lake or like most you were forced to stand outside the tent seeing nothing just listening to the bands. Even with 2 perfectly working legs this was a precarious exercise. Disabled access, who are they trying to kid.
There was a festival on the site the week before when the mud bath started, so the organisers had a week to sort this out. Clearly they had done nothing. At 6pm finally they stated to put some plastic mats down. Probably due to the complaints that were rapidly filling Instagram informing of how dangerous it was. Thisī must have prompted Skiddles solicitors to warn them of the imminent backlash from disgruntled customs and the H&S police.
Any festival goer knows that portaloos aren't the Ritz Carlton. But the setup here was something else. There wasn't anything like enough toilets the queues were massive, constantly. At one point around 6pm they had to close down a complete toilet block which made the situation worse.
Mid afternoon an announcement popped up on the main screens. Our headline act has pulled out due to unforeseen circumstances. After some quick shuffling of artists they thought this was addressed. Not for me personally I had only gone for 3 bands The Kooks , Neds Atomic Dustbin and Black grape. With the Kooks pulling out Black grape plus Neds were then put on both stages at the same time, rather than following one after the other. So the 3 performing bands that I wanted to see and that justified the 3hr for, went from 3 to 1. What a joke!
The Kooks are playing down south today, seems more like they just couldn't be a**ed rather than heading up north.
In the main marquee in a corner it looked as though cows had been sheltering from the elements give the stench this is probably the case.
I took my two kids (mid teens) with me, midway through the gig they went back to the car. They had wristbands on from first entry, when they returned they were then refused entry as security said they needed to be with an adult. I then had to leave one of the gigs to go and get them back in. I asked security htf did they get wristbands on in the first place if they didn't meet the entrance criteria.
For those going to the dance festival on the site next weekend, don't bother. I would try and get your money back.
It's such a shame this feedback doesn't allow the option of attachments. I'd love to post some of the my photies.
Skiddle then have the audacity to send me this to " provide feedback asking did we enjoy the festival" Skiddle Are You On Drugs!!!

Review of Monument Festival
For a start the headline act cancelled on the day of the event due to facilities not being satisfactory. Secondly as my partner broke her leg we needed support with disability access, when the request was put in everything seemed great but when we got there most of what was primised was a joke. The disabled parking was in a field (even though the park has actual car parking), the disabled toilets were inaccesible due to mud with no routes planned out for wheel chairs and although once on it the seating platform was great again there was no route to get to it, the mud almost made it impossible to get a wheelchair through.
