Review of Gin and Disco Festival - Edinburgh
This event was definitely not worth the £25 paid for it. The music was not what was expected. You could see people dancing but the tunes were so obscure hardly anyone knew them. The toilets were an atrocity as the doors were able to be pulled open even if they were locked. Some of the toilets didn’t even have doors and none had toilet roll. You also weren’t allowed to take your drinks around the venue which was totally ridiculous. Drinks bought on a floor had to be consumed on that floor. I wouldn’t have minded this event for £5 or £10 but £25 is totally ridiculous. The drinks were also expensive which I wouldn’t have minded had I not paid so much to get in.

Review of Gin and Disco Festival - Edinburgh
The music was great and the blank canvas of the venue gave a good platform to create an awesome event.
Sadly it just fell below the mark.
The lighting was ill thought out - especially upstairs. The atmosphere in all but the main room was lacking.
The fact you couldn’t take your drink upstairs if you bought it downstairs or couldn’t go outside with it made you feel trapped.
For being ‘Gin and Disco’ in the evening the gins were just another bottle behind the bar - yeh there was more of a selection but the upstairs bar didn’t even have any lime left in their last hour. So you were paying +£7 for 2 pieces of ice, a shot of gin and dash of tonic. Fine if it was billed as just a music event or a club night but Gin was in the title.
With so many events like this around it’s a competitive market. Hopefully lessons can be learnt because the music was really good and the event, with some tweaks, could be so much better.

Review of Gin and Disco Festival - Edinburgh
I am really disappointed with the event. everything about it was good (atmosphere, venue, music etc) but I had contacted the organisers before the event to check that other drinks will be available as I have an allergy to Juniper berries (something nearly always found in gin) so can't drink gin. other drinks were available but you were not allowed to take them upstairs which is the room which all the djs were playing that I had paid to see. downstairs was absolutely carnage and I didn't like the music but I had no option to get drinks upstairs. I tried explaining this to security but I was not allowed entry to upstairs with a plastic cup bought from downstairs. it ruined my evening aswell as my 2 other friends so will be contacting the organisers about getting a refund.
