Review of The Book Club's First Birthday Extravaganza (Night Two)
The venue is fine however the event itself was not worth the £22.25. There was promise of year long prizes when in reality it was a rubbish game of pass the parcel where you didn't even get to see what they people won as they unwrapped it. The food was 3 dishes on the table with some sweets and popcorn and 3 stail biscuits to share between 6 people.
They had donuts with no obvious vegan, dairy free, gluten free options.
The event is supposed to run 7pm-10pm according to the ticket but didn't start till 7.45pm and finished at 9.30pm.
Very disappointed when compared to the first bookclub event I went to back in August last year. I won't be back, it's just become too big of an event that's not well managed, expensive and seems to be more about making money than anything else. Tickets use to be £13.95 (non alcohol drinks token) and you got more for you money back then too.

Good if you're looking for night out vibes and to meet new people. But if like me you're there more for the books this probably isn't for you. It's quite load and very busy so if you're an anxious bean like I am I'd suggest avoiding and choosing a book club that isn't located in a bar.

Review of The Book Club's First Birthday Extravaganza (Night One)
It was so good! I'd never been before but it was class. Will defo be making it a regular thing. Very wholesome. It was absolutely chocka so I'd defo recommend trying to get there early so it's not a struggle getting a seat. There was space for everyone but everyone had to squeeze in and shuffle about lol.
My friend and I ended up sitting at one of the singles tables with 6 other girls who were there on their own and the chat was FLOWING.
It was so lovely xx
