Review of Outdoor Tribute Festival comes to Hastings!
Had to wait in queue in rain for half an hour as doors didn't open at 12 as stated! Not allowed to take even a bottle of water in which I'm sure goes against civil rights. I'm diabetic and have a chocolate bar and peanuts for emergencies but told to put them in bin. Had VIP ticket which stated we had our own area, toilets and bar....the area was up on the terrace with a view of the back of the stage! The music couldn't be heard very well either! Basically you couldn't see or hear the bands despite paying extra! The bar was a small hatch with extremely long queues and the toilets had long queues. We were told there were food trucks and couldn't take any food in at all. There was only 2 food places apart from a goat curry stand which served only fast food and queues were over an hour long. I needed food as diabetic so had to leave to get something to eat and was told there was strictly no re entry so couldn't go back in. When we arrived we went to buy tea and coffee at the only hut selling them to be told they had no milk... this was before 1pm! We had taken our own chairs but were told after about 4 hours any one sitting on the floor or a chair had to move to the very back of the pier where again you couldn't see stage or hear very well and there wasn't much room as the general bar was there. We were then expected to stand for 5 hours! As I said before I had to leave and wasn't allowed back in so missed most of it. Also the line up was completely chained and the acts we saw were inferior and only to bad backing tracks. Not one act we saw had a real backing band with real instruments. I know many were extremely unhappy with the event. Basically we didn't get what you advertised or what we paid for so under the trades description act consumer goods act will be demanding a full refund and compensation!

No set times, half the advertised band did not appear, food and drinks insanely expensive. Very rough security man handling older patrons - it should be investigated

Awful event. Lack of food vendors, no acts as advertised, no line up times so nobody knew who was on when, drink ran out, no readmission so you couldn't even go out to get food or drink, VIP area behind the stage with no view at all! Actual scam, reminiscent of the Wonka Glasgow debacle!

Review of Outdoor Tribute Festival comes to Hastings!
I have been to a few music festivals and this is one I won't be returning to. The event was poorly organised. There were only 3 food stalls open (we were not allowed to bring food in). I waited for almost an hour for an overpriced burger. The bar ran out of draft beer early in the afternoon. I am not sure the ablutions coped either, becoming filthy very quickly. The cover bands were a mixed bag. A pier venue is always going to be exposed to the elements, so no complaints about that. There were numerous security staff and they were kept busy. Doors opened late.

Review of Outdoor Tribute Festival comes to Hastings!
Had VIP tickets. Nobody on VIP bar. Drinks really expensive. Security guards making people leave if they wanted to out and come back in. Tickets on phone so shouldn't have been a problem. Bad atmosphere as everyone seemed fed up and ripped off. As it was cold we wanted to get a jumper and come back but as stated we weren't allowed, so had to leave venue and not return, this was after only an hour. Waste of time and money considering we had travelled 150 miles.

Review of Outdoor Tribute Festival comes to Hastings!
Awful. Preevent there was no information on what we could or vould not take in. When we arrived entry was 40 minutes late . As disabled looked for accessibility area none available so sat in chairs halfway back on side. Midway through security tried to move us to back. Draught beers ran out at 4pm and burgers all gone by 4.30pm.
There was no running order on display and the 2 main acts as advertised that i wanted to see - Rolling stones and Bowie did not appear.
Acts that did appear were good especialy Elton John.
Left early

Review of Outdoor Tribute Festival comes to Hastings!
Brilliant festival will go again if it's on in Hastings again. What was the issue was total lack of any information about logistics. Event opens at 12 and ends at 10. Most events of this nature allow you to leave and be readmitted. So not knowing that meant we expected a few hours warm up a break and restart later. So preparing for potentially a 10hr stint is very different to pop in pop out etc. Also a a diabetic I have to be mindful of what I can eat. There was no provision in any shape or form other than chips etc and highly sugared items. But I was allowed to bring anything in food or drink wise. So buying essential bottles of water at £5 a go wasn't funny. I couldn't prove my medical condition as I am type 2 and don't have any need to carry medication. We turned up at 12 as that was when it opened to realise there was no seating so the prospect of standing for 10 hrs didn't work. After a couple of hours we were told we couldn't sit on the ground announced from the stage and if people had bought their own chairs they had to move to the back of the venue behind the sound desk from where you can't really see. We were searched for food and drink quite rigorously so when had people around drinking wine from out of their bags it was a bit galling. After 6 hours of standing with no appropriate food or drink we had to leave so missed probably the best acts. So I would love to go but would need some assurances about the conditions of entry and the issues raised above....spoilt what is a great place venue and concept.

Review of Outdoor Tribute Festival comes to Hastings!
It was a very bizarre day. Food and drink prices were ridiculous. Toilets weren't great. Organisation was terrible, we had no idea who was meant to playing when! My friend then got escorted quite aggressively and with no real reasoning to the back bar (which he hadn't been to) by 10 security guards claiming he hadn't paid for drinks. When he got to the bar staff they said no it wasn't him, when we asked who they were looking for they said someone with a hat and gingery beard. No apology from security was given. We then saw security do the same thing with 3 or 4 other people before finally finding the actual person they were looking for. The music was good but unfortunately everything else made the experience quite uncomfortable and so we left to get food!

Not enough food or drink to accommodate the amount of people, and you weren't allowed to bring in your own or leave the venue to get food. Several tributes were no show and we paid for vip which was situated behind the stage. No queue jumping included and everyone was using the vip loos. Why did I pay extra????

Review of Outdoor Tribute Festival comes to Hastings!
Most of the tribute bands advertised were not there, the gap between each act was very long.
You were not allowed to take in food and drink which was fair enough, but that included unopened bottled water?! Then venue ran out of beer at 3pm, and the event was on til 10pm. The food and drink was very very expensive and a very long wait as not enough outlets - will not be going again.

Review of Outdoor Tribute Festival comes to Hastings!
This was the most poorly organised event I have ever attended. Prices were appalling, VIP area was at the back of the stage, only three food outlets so queues were over an hour, security were way over the top. At one point about seven guys surrounding a disabled lady telling her she couldn't sit (on her mobility aid) that she had been sitting in for two hours. The security changed what had been a wonderful atmosphere by bullying people who were not hurting anyone. The worst thing though was the lack of information prior to the event - posts and messages asking questions were basically ignored - leaving a lot of people confused. Sadly I think this will mean people won't attend in the future. The acts were good but it was not made clear when buying the tickets that not all of the named acts would be there. Very disappointing for the people who were expecting their favourite acts and didn't get to see them.
