Poor sound quality, the PA was made up of only two monitors, the sound of cans being opened at the bar was
louder than the act. warm Fosters £4 a tin. LKJ was Ace !

Review of Lost Voices of Morecambe Winter Gardens
The actors were well- rehea**ed and there were no problems with the visual performance. There was very little music while somehow the pre show publicity had suggested there would be more. The acoustics were poor from where we were sitting - about half way between the pit and the back bar. We often missed the whole first line of an actor’s speech. The content and format of the show were interesting. The use of repeated appearances from a limited number of characters worked to some degree to hold the show together. However it was hard to recognise characters because there was very little in the way of props or costume to use as cues and their first lines were often inaudible..

Review of Lost Voices of Morecambe Winter Gardens
The acoustics were wrong, too much echo, I could only hear the odd word of the narrative. The archive film was skew-wift on the cloth, there was too much talking and insufficient music. Production quite boring and depressing

Review of Lost Voices of Morecambe Winter Gardens
A first time opportunity to visit the Winter Gardens, Morecambe for many years. Was impressed by the progress of restoration so far. A lot of work had obviously gone into the production of "Lost Voices" but found it hard to follow. Introduction and more explanation of what was being presented would have been welcome.

Review of Lost Voices of Morecambe Winter Gardens
We came without a preconceived notion of what awaited, since the venue had holes in the roof and was derelict the last time I visited. The transformation was exciting, even though there was still a lot to do.
The concert, recounting the memories of past residents and visitors to the town, was evocative and, although perhaps voices could have sometimes benefitted from microphones (due in part to the lack of soft furnishings making echoes "interesting" the montages of players and films stood out as an excellent use of mixed media use. The players themselves were a joy to see and their performances lacked nothing. The use of one of the Boxes was especially inventive. I would heartily recommend the concert to everyone.
