Good venue, but nothing as expected. Disappointing. We went to the twilight session. Advertisement was not true to what the event was. Said there were rides, chases, and a freak room, with advertising stating “not for the faint hearted”. None of which were at the event, and did not find the event nowhere near as scary as was advertised. Very overpriced tickets, for what the event actually was. Not worth £22.25 each.

Expensive for how long the experience was. Then food was extremely overpriced but the castle is fantastic and the idea was amazing, let’s hope it could grow from this and be a little more for the money next time

Was a good night for its first year
The actors were really good but it would be nice to see more actors running around the outside scaring people,
Need to be a little less controlled. and I enjoyed the very first part where the white witch was and you were left to make a choice. We had decided to follow the red witch. Therefore we were left as a group to make a choice of two ways that first part was good as everybody was unsure of which way we were allowed to go that added to the fear factor😁💀
Needs to be a little longer,
and it would be good to have creepier sounds in the more quiet places to add to the fear factor.
Need to be more scarier the actors were good, Needmore actors looking more gory needs more scare factor. more entertainment on the outside, and people that are more hygienic serving food as mine and my husbands food was served up with hands with no gloves.
and a little bit more choice of food,
Love the idea of marshmallows and fire pits that was different,

The time it took to get in and Que up ment we had to go in an hour late! Only to be in there for a total of 10 minutes.. there was nothing scary about it and we left very disappointed and will not be returning!!

The venue was perfect and the effort put into the decor, character's costumes etc. was impressive. The parking and entry was a shambles although some of that was due to the bad weather causing cars to get stuck in the muddy grass. The entry and exit road was a single track so passing was difficult & slow.

We had booked tickets online already so didn't see a need to visit the ticket office. We walked up a very long steep hill to get to the start of the experience just to be told to go back down and get a wristband. We had to pay £3 for parking but don't recall seeing anything about that when booking and no one was actually checking so more of an "honesty" system. The queue to get in (once we walked up the steep hill again) was similar to Alton Towers atmosphere. Took 30 mins to start the experience. You are sent in as groups of around 15 people.

Once in, they have clearly worked hard on pulling together a storyline for the experience. We move from "room to room" getting asked questions and interaction from character's with a few silent creepy character's wandering round the group. Then you all get moved on.
The actors all worked really hard to be convincing but the stop-start nature of the experience took away the scariness. The walk through lasted 15 mins max and ends abruptly with no conclusion to "the story" or even any signage or indication that it's done. The scariest part of the experience was when our friend jumped out at us at the end.

Sadly this experience not scary for us but the venue was stunning, the facilities (loos, food stalls, DJ area etc.) was good and the decorations and actors were good quality (although the complex story took away some of the creepiness). It was a nice enough night, although we were in an out in less than 1 hour including parking and queuing, which was a shame when we travelled 3 hrs round trip to attend.

Sadly we where looking forward to this since we saw it advertised.... we where definitely underwhelmed . For a start parking was not good, very small amount of parking for venue. As to the actual scare event it was lacking in scares the main actor area where well done BUT there was a lack of scares in between. It was over in less then half hour.

Absolutely disgusting ,it cost alot of money took around 15,20mins and most of that time you are stood in a room with someone just talking to you ,I sent them a message via Facebook and all they've done is block me not even a reply ,they've honestly stole people's money , disgusting how they have treated me ,wouldn't waste your money on this will never go back

Very poor. The actors were good, but it wasn't as scary as expected. There were no fairground rides or Halloween light trail as advertised. I understand the weather probably played a major factor in this, but we weren't informed upon arrival.
The whole experience lasted just under half an hour.

I just wanted more when it finished I thought we were at the half way point. The actors were amazing but I just wanted longer and scarier I did not fulfil my Halloween scary craving

So disappointed with the event last night!
1. First issue, we arrived on foot there was NO sign or person to advise we need to collect wrist bands just a sign saying £3 for parking tickets, we followed the ‘Event this way’ post to the top of the steep hill, queued and was then told sorry you need to go back down and get wristbands… we were confused as we had barcode tickets and asked where to go explaining there was only a car park ticket hut? But told to go there, which we did only to find 1 person serving a queue of about 50 people!!
2.No fairgrounds (didn’t receive an email to let me know, only saw the message today when I was looking for a Facebook page after another attendee told us it existed. Not even an apology when collecting the tickets, first we knew about it was the empty courtyard at the end!!!
3. Playing rugby on the big screen and no horror films?? Wtf! Why would you say you will be playing horror movies which we were looking forward to and replace with sport at a horror event!!! Shocking!!
4. In the last sections from the court yard with the war veteran before the pocking the guy lay down, the timing of the groups got so messed up our experience was ruined to the point of the actor even admitting it and saying “oh god are you not with that group you have just see what will happen, you shouldn’t have been sent in now we are sorry”
5. Quite frankly it was all rushed and felt like we must have missed something as it was over in 8mins a very disappointing experience.
6. No atmosphere or interactions at the courtyard just a few guys watching the RUGBY and the “street food” being a burger or kebab van served by the most miserable no customer service attendants possible!!


Sadly all we escaped with was A WASTE OF MONEY!!

It was ok but not what I was expecting a little dull really. It was more like the hunted house at a fair ground !!

From watching the promo video, I was expect far more than I got. Basically you walk into a decorated room and there are some people dressed up in Halloween paraphernalia. In a few rooms people jump out at you, but 'escape, alive,' it wasn't.

The venue made it for me. Definitely worth the price just to see the castle at night.

An absolutely stunning venue, but for an adult Halloween fear fest, I won't be returning.
