Great event, fabulous atmosphere.
However great confusion about tickets by donation and even more confusion about what food in what containers could by brought in by us. We had to bin much of picnic yet other people inside had the same packaging! A very hard and confusing job for the security people. There needs to be much more clarity and consistency.

It would be very lovely if future events could include community arts and street theatre.

However a wonderful day for our communities!
Thank you

When we arrived we were told no alcohol at 1st then explain you were allow and they got conformation let us in with then they said no food then they said no plastic my friends had walkers crisp taken off them as they said they are in plastic but the crisp bags r foul so I think next time it needs to be more clear on the web page of what you bring and what you can't bring my other friend that came with her 4 kids all the food she had made at home for them to eat was taken off her which I thought was bad as the cost of living is awful at the moment and to buy 5 burgers would of cost around £30 less that what it cost her for the kids Picnic as that is what the event was

I really wanted to like this event however, there were several inconsistant policies that made the festival dangerous as an audience member. First, I would like to say that adopting green and eco-friendly policies are neccessary, however they need to be consistant and safe. Banning single-use plastic is admirable, however when you introduce this with a no glass bottle policy, in practice this made accessing water throughout the event almost impossible. Security let me in with a single-use plastic carton of grapes however, confiscated my friend's 5l bottle of water. They wouldn't let another friend in with large single-use plastic crisp packets but were fine once they were opened and emptied into a single-use plastic bag.

Access to water within the festival was limited to paid bottles only, or if there was access to free water within the festival it was either inaccessible or not made clear enough to find. Vendors were also allowed to serve their drinks in single use plastic cups, which begs the question of why even have single-use policies in place in the first place if it is inconsistant with how the festival opperates once we're inside. This, coupled with the 8 cans of alcohol policy meant that people were dehydrated, drunk and suffering from heat stroke.

By the time I had ordered my ticket the "Accessible tickets" had been sold out, so I had to go through regular security causing distress and frustration throughout the search as the staff were not equipped to support those with invisible disabilities. This is also troubling to me as this seemed like the festival had a cap on how many disabled people were allowed to attend or access support within the festival grounds. Given the overwhelming overlap between the disabled and queer community it is frustrating that there was even a cap on accessible tickets to begin with.

I hope in future events, there is more consistancy with your eco-friendly policies and that next year you structure the event so both the planet and audience safety are prioritised.

The organisers of Salford Pride had taken the crazy decision to refuse people to bring in bags of crisps because they were in single use plastic! Without any warning, we and many other people had to throw away mutiple unopened sharing bags in order to gain entry, even though people came in with many other types of single use plastic. We heard of children having to lose their snacks due to this ridiculous rule. This was a PICNIC!!! You created a mountain of food waste (we were told it was given to the homeless, however what was the point?!) while attempting to stick to your sustainable morals. The irony. It infuriated everyone entering, which started what could have been a great day, with our whole party stressed and angry. This goes entirely against the family values the event begun with and has utterly damaged your reputation.

We were turned away after queuing for some time as we brought reusable bottles. These were borosilicate bottles, pride themed, bought just for the event. The rules on the website made it seem there was only a ban on glass under the alcohol section and not the reusable bottle section. If plastic was banned, then what else could you bring, expensive canteens and metal flasks? Besides this, vendors were handing out plenty of plastic cups and trays. The stewards were throwing away lots of food, at a time where everyone is struggling. Couldn't see any recycling. People still managed to get plastic waste in. There was a water station available which was a life saver as it was very hot out, United Utilities handed out flasks for people which was incredible. Signage for the water and different ticket entry needed to be better. Sadly vaping and smoking was horrendous as well as people smoking w**d. Awful since since this was a family event with young kids nearby. The sound was very unbalanced and you couldn't hear a lot of what was being said or sang and most speeches were aimed more at the straight allies than the community, which felt a little exclusionary. It would have been great to hear some pride classics, but a lot of the music was modern dance tunes. Otherwise, it was a great day out. Fabulous weather and beautiful scenery. The stalls were great as always. A little cramped overall, but great to see it thriving. We might need a bit of extra room next year and clearer instructions on what you can and can't bring!
