Review of Salford Pride Presents: The Pink Picnic 2024
Event is very weather dependent. Luckily was a lovely sunny day. The ridiculous policy on plastic meant some people had their picnic confiscated before they even got into the park. There was no large screens so couldn't see what was happening on stage. Basically once picnic finished felt not a great deal to do as couldn't see stage and acoustics not great. Probably won't go again.

What a great event, the Pink Picnic is one for the whole family. What a way to celebrate Pride in Salford, with lots of stalls, food and drink, and lots of entertainment! I'll defo be back next year!

Loved it. Had a great time. Atmosphere was a lovely mix of relaxed and upbeat. Good music. Drinks were good value overall but we were allowed to bring in our own drinks (some) so that made it even more affordable. Thanks Salford Pride!

the ONLY thing that i will say, we were pretty disgusted to have ours and seeing soooo many people having food ( bags of crisps/ popcorn and other items ) being taken and thrown into the bins... didn't mention this on website just guidelines around bottles.
of drinks...
if it had been donated to a foodbank that at least would of been something.
people on the gates didn't seem to know what was going on...
we had pots of humous/ dips but these were not taken, just all of our crisps.
food waste was heart-breaking.

The event its self was brilliant. We were told previously that only particular products can go into the venue, no plastic bottles or glass and only cans. Was really disappointed to have various snacks taken off us at the gate because 'these are not recyclable' but yet neither is the Tescos carrier bag it was all in and that was fine. Only then to find out that a group of friends came in with back packs that where not even searched, large 2ltr plastic bottles of c**e and alcohol, tin trays with sandwiches etc... I was disappointed to have food taken off me only to be thrown away !!!

Our second year at this event and there is is only one negative from this year and that was the draconian rules (seemingly the councils) around single use plastics and I know there are lots of similar reviews stating the same! If the council are going to demand that there is "NO" single use plastic in a public park the the organisers of the event need to make this super obvious to the members of the public that will be attending next year's Ts and Cs need to say exactly what you can and can not bring and that will clear up any grey areas there were dozens of people around us having £100 of pounds of food taken off them and thrown into a bin! By some of the most obnoxious security staff I have ever encountered.
Rant over now.... The event was amazing so many people mixing together with no trouble at all which in this world is something to be proud of.
