Review of Outdoor Tribute Festival Chepstow!
Music acts were good in the whole. But VIP toilets were blocked and onsite bars had run out of most soft drinks early on Sunday. Food outlets were forbidden to sell their soft drinks for some reason.

Review of Outdoor Tribute Festival Chepstow!
Not a good experience. Paid for VIP parking. When we arrived, there was no staff or signage to show where to go, and no "VIP section" closer to the venue, so we just parked where we felt was best. So that was an extra expense for nothing. There had been a 90s music event the day before, held by the same company, and there was litter everywhere on the way into the venue (Chepstow Racecourse).
When we got in, we were told that the VIP section (we had also purchased VIP tickets) was right at the back. It was a fenced off section with a bar, but as far away from the stage as you could get. Why would anyone pay extra to sit far away from the stage?
There was a VIP "Golden circle" area in front of the stage, but when we were let in, we were told we couldnt use our chairs. After some discussion with the staff, who claimed to have no idea why, and kept giving the stock answer of "Thats what we've been told", I finally managed to get a manager, who said "this is a dance area, so no chairs". Why the staff could not be told this is beyond me.
However, I can appreciate that the 90s event the day before, needed to have a dance/rave area, but the demographic of the audience for the tribute acts was largely middle aged - it would have been perfectly feasible to half the dance area and allow VIP ticket holders some space to sit down and watch the acts.
We stayed and watched 3 of the acts, who were all good, but the catalyst for leaving was we went to the "VIP" toilets, which were simply the ones in the Grandstand (3 of the 4 hand dryers were out of action) and then decided to get a drink.
They were advertising "Diet Pepsi" (couldnt drink as I was driving) - but had none, and instead were charging £3 for half a cup (Only filled halfway) for cheap Barr Cola, out of bottles marked "£1.19". So £6 for 2 half cups of crappy soft drink. When we said to the barman, ok, we will have a bottle for £1.19" and pointed at the bottles, he just laughed and said "pretend you havent seen those, we did have some Pepsi but sold out at the 90s event yesterday".
I understand that food and drink is charged at a more premium price at events, but this was just taking the mickey. TO blatantly have supermarket large bottles marked £1.15, then have the neck to charge £3 for less than half a pint out of that same bottle is a total rip off.
We will never go to an event organised by this shower again, and I will actively discourage anyone I can from going.

Review of Outdoor Tribute Festival Chepstow!
No disabled area! VIP Area was right at the back not worth paying extra. NO CHAIRS allowed in VIP area yet website said you could bring chairs. Stewards officious in the extreme.
My daughter and I felt discriminated against because of her disability as did other disabled guests.
No disabled toilet!
Generally poor site management will not be attending again.

Review of Save The Rave: Outdoor 90's Festival
Although festival would have been good, I at one point needed to pop out to my car, however they wouldn't let me back in once I returned saying that my ticket was a one time entry only so I ended up missing most of the festival.

Review of Outdoor Tribute Festival Chepstow!
Bands and music was very good , realistic and authentic.
Venue for VIP guests was shocking and not up to the standard of other events I have attended at Chepstow Racecourse. VIP Area seated was at the rear with a view blocked via hessian wrap around the fence 6ft high! Then the mixing desk was bang in the way pf the entrance gap 8ft wide so viewing from there was impossible. The VIP toilets were not able to accommodate a woman in a wheelchair to use their disabled space, who found she couldn't access through the regular sized door entrance to the cubicle or turn her wheelchair around in the cubicle - clearly a person using a wheelchair had not used it or certified it before passing it as fit for use.
Also, the available refreshments had sold out on Sunday morning for lots of the menu at BAR leaving a choice of one larger or a cider. This was very disappointing.
The last VIP gripe I have was initially blocking entering the VIP only standing area with a folded chair - was asked to return to the rear VIP area if I wished to sit and hear the band! The last event (Lionel Richie) I attended had seating by the stage, toilets and bar by those seats and 'queue jumping' . These tickets were labelled similarly VIP and is why I purchased them. VIP experience was sorely lacking and the event as a whole resembled something organised and performed at impromptu at someone's farm or back garden. Apart from the music and performances, it was a disappointing, overpriced shambles and not as advertised or up to standard expected of Chepstow Racecourse events.
I have attended other Festivals/Events like Kaiser Cheifs at Forslas and know what can be done and what to expect at these events. I would look there at Forslas in future for similar exprperiences and avoid Chepstow Racecourse.
Lastly, parking - there was a child or early teen manning the parking on Sunday who did not have any idea where disabled parking was or how to get into the venue and which gate. Both I and my partner find walking difficult and have a blue badge. I was confident after the Lionel Ritchie experience that I could mange this festival but my guile and perseverance in getting close to the tunneled entrance to the site or to argue with the VIP security for my chair to enter the near stage area I would have returned home at 1.30pm!
In short not what was advertised and not up to standard.
Thank you

Review of Save The Rave: Outdoor 90's Festival
overly officious security staff, poor quality DJing (playing Coldplay and 'living on a prayer' - awful !), no atmosphere (due to carpark setting and no tent/marquee), zero rave decorations / visuals. This was nothing like any 90's rave. Dont 'save the rave' if this is what you are saving

Review of Outdoor Tribute Festival Chepstow!
Music fab. But too many rules inconsistently applied - some people allowed in with food/drink when guidance explicitly prohibits this. Some people allowed in with umbrellas, ours was confiscated - in case we stabbed a child with the pointy end apparently. Company did not answer any communication beforehand, either via fb or email.

Review of Outdoor Tribute Festival Chepstow!
The VIP element was a disgrace. Keeping most of the guests who didn't pay to be a 'VIP' behind a huge barrier sucked all fun the the atmosphere. The beer options were very limited. Food was poor quality and expensive. We left after a hour.

Review of Outdoor Tribute Festival Chepstow!
Music was fabulous but everything else was terrible.
1. When we arrived for 12pm the music had started but we were still locked out behind a gate to get in. What's the point of opening the car park at 10 am if you can't get into the venue
2. We brought an umbrella as the weather was not great to be told it was too big & taken of us. Yet as more people arrived larger umbrellas were allowed in 🤷🏻 we then went back to retrieve it. Stick to a rule!!!!!
3. We had VIP ticket the queue was long but we weren't allowed to queue jump which our ticket allowed.
4. We went to go in the VIP area in front of the stage to be told we couldn't sit down on our chairs so we sat on the outside yet again as more people arrived guess what people were allowed to sit in the VIP area in front of the stage!!!!!!
5. The venue was awful the layout terrible & surprisingly it was not enjoyable sat on tarmac

What a fab day out. We were a party of seven ladies and the whole day was brilliant, not even the rain could dampen our spirits. Yes the food and drink is expensive but it's expected at this sort of event.
