Review of Shrek Rave
The event itself was good, with a strange selection of things to do, but it worked.
However the strictness of what was allowed onsite meant they had a captive market and they did everything they could to rip people off. A can of alcoholic drink was £6.5 minimum and a can of c**e was £2.5. Meals and snacks were upwards of £8 with an ice cream £4 to £6.5.
For me this was meant to be a family event but the prices meant that the enjoyment had been taken out of it before really begining. I know I spent a lot less then I had planned to and left earlier than I wanted due to these issues.
I don't think I would recommend this to people and I won't be going again which is a shame.

Review of Festival of Comedy 2024
We had a great time, great selection of comedians. Felt a bit unusual being in a effectively a festival that was closing down around us, and it was confusing whether signage referred to what was happening now or the previous festival. Really nice time though

Review of Disco Kids Newport 2024
This event is totally unsuitable for kids under 5. We queued for 40 mins to get in. Not allowed to bring any snacks in for kids but luckily i brought stuff for the queue. There was lots of food stalls but obviously overpriced and not selling the kind of thing you might give a 2 year old for a quick snack. The circus "school" was just some really ropey looking equipment (diabolos, juggling balls, spinning plates) by a very small tent with one bloke who wasn't really interacting with the kids. The science school was like 3 very simple experiments at set times spaced hours apart - we didn't get a chance to see anything there. We only stayed an hour as my kids really hated the noise - you'd think it'd be a bit quieter for kids but maybe this is aimed at much older kids? We didn't see bluey but I think maybe she turned up later? My daughter went on the tea cups but most of the rides were for older kids and around £5/pp. Overall it was a rip off for us but not as much of a rip off as if I'd paid £17 for the park and ride when you can quite easily park and walk as many people chose to since £17 is a lot for a mile journey! I think this is just an add on as they have the set up from party in the park, they haven't really thought about what they can provide for kids. I wouldn't go again if you paid me.

The information about the park and ride was not clear. We drove around for 2 hours trying to find where we needed to be and then had to give up and go home. This was a real disappointment as we were looking forward to bringing our little one to the event.

Disaster from start to finish! No email to advise of location change,, no parking, 2 mile walk with baby in pram to venue which wasn't pram safe! Event not baby friendly even though advised as so.
Event tents so close you couldnt hear anyone clearly on own.. as all too loud and over powering each other.
No where for babies to go even slightly quiter. No where for babies to interact or dance as all up on stands.
Baby sensory was tiny, so too small to join in.
No non smoking areas, and even drugs been taken, smoked near shreks disco.
Layvout seemed hap hasardous and not thought out at all.
Poorly organised, poorly run and unsafe for babies. Has put me off any future events as this so called baby friendly event was horrific.
All that seemed to be the motive is advertising for festival in 2025, maybe spend more time making this event a success rather than pushing another when this one was so poor!
1000% not worth it!! Complete waste of money... would love a refund and my time back.

The line up was brilliant
Awful facilities, no water to wash your hands, no sanitizer, the directions online to the park and ride were dreadful, we ended out having to walk to the event.
My husband was taken ill at the end of the show, we asked for some help, and was told that first aid has stopped, we had to walk him back to the car without any assistance from the event team
***Appalling **
We have been to a few skiddle events, but after the poor organisation and lack of facilities
I doubt we will be attending any more

There was no appropriate shade for young children not wanting to be in the extremely loud tent. The music played on the shrek stage contained songs with explicit words and the prices were awful. Not allowed to take in water on a very hot day and then charging £3 for a small bottle. Will not be going again. An expensive mistake to make.

Travel was an utter shambles, no parking at the event meant we were forced to buy overpriced park and ride tickets. There was no signposts telling us where the park and ride service would collect us. We waited from 2pm until 2.45 for the park and ride service but as the last entry to the event was at 3pm we eventually gave up and went home! I cannot review the event as poor management and communication meant we were unable to attend at all so have lost out on the cost of the expensive entry tickets and the park and ride tickets.

Review of Festival of Comedy 2024
The best thing about the festival was the line up which brilliant. We also found it very easy to access the venue, although we are unfamiliar with the area it seemed ok. It was also not a huge crowd of people which made it more enjoyable as we could actually have a clear view of the stage & the acts. Overall a very enjoyable evening .

What an amazing day out once again. Loved every second on it. Way overpriced for stuff though. Taking the mik a bit. Wanted £4 for a small red bull, £3.50 for a small bottle of water ! And the food was also ridiculous!! But other than that what a day out!!
