We attended the Lookalike festival yesterday at Newark. Very disappointed to find that it wasn't taking place on a field in the sunshine, but inside a dark and dismal hangar. No sunshine or grass to sit on, no atmosphere, such a shame because the bands were very good. The toilets left a lot to be desired and hadn't been cleaned from the previous night. Food and drink, as per usual very overpriced.

We made the most of a bad job and found a nice spare bit of tarmac between the VIP area and the bar. Thankfully we could hear the music from the outside VIP area. The sound quality in the very hot exhibition shed was truly awful with no repeater speakers for those at the far end. Why was it inside on a good weekend weather wise? Not as advertised at all! The music from the Waltsers drowned out the main music at the far end where people sat outside. Food looked good but expensive and the bar was not cheap. Lots of effort and plenty of staff but basically it should have been outside as advertised on a weekend where good weather was forecast. Half the advertised bands were not there and putting the car parking up from £6 to £10 on the day was the icing on the cake. It was a poorly planned event in the wrong place. Certainly won't be going again as trust has been broken. To be fair, it was so poor, we just enjoyed our groups company with some background music. The majority of people left by 6pm and the place was dead. We had a picnic on the park in-front of Newark Castle....We should have stayed there!

We attended this festival last year and it was great. It was all situated on the grass and we were allowed to wander freely between our seats and the front standing area. However, we turned up yesterday to a whole different event! This was suppsed to be an outdoor festival. The metal 'hangar' venue wasn't good for the sound and was very stuffy. We were resigned to sitting in the car park for most of the time. The food outlets were so limited compared to last year and the food prices food were really high. The whole event was a letdown and had absolutely no 'festival'' atmosphere at all!!

Review of Save The Rave: 90's Festival - Newark
This was meant to be an outdoor festival, it was indoors. The sound was too quiet for an event until later in the day. I've also never seen only the VIP aloud to be at the front of the stage. I won't be going back if it's the same next year sadly.

Tribute acts were great. !!!
Venue poorly organised very small and indoor, website rubbish for information about the info for the venue.
Carpark should have been a lane for paid and lane to pay.
Chairs should only be allowed to a certain point instread of blockading people. Drinks soft/alcoholic both overpriced. Limited food offer and no sweet options. It would have worked much better with music outside and food indoors. Broken indoor toilets but portaloos cleaned continually throughout the event!!

Although the VIP area was so much better this year, last years has much more of a festival vibe.
The outside area was like sitting in a car park. The only grass area was right outside the toilets. The food was very expensive for what you got and very little choice this year.
The artists were good but not the ones advertised. The artists were the same as last year.

No where near as good as last year, the line up was missing acts that had been advertised, and notification received about the line up.
The VIP area didn't have enough grass to allow people who had not bought chairs to sitdown on, also there was more toilets and a lot cleaner in the VIP area than last year.

What a complete disappointment this was after the fantastic event last year . Being cooped up in an echoing hanger that did absolutely nothing for the sound or atmosphere . Glaring lights , filthy floor , so many people left early as it was so bad . People looked bored most on their phones or talking not listening to the music Weather outside perfect for an open air tribute festival . Ended up a complete waste of money and a very disappointed family , I felt stupid as I'd raved about how good it was going to be as last year was fantastic. Won't be wasting my money again . A very bad mistake using this type of venue and false advertising as it was not open air .
